However, since the future is unknown, this preprocessing practice is limited in realistic forecasting, especially in real-time forecasting scenarios. In this paper, we propose a framework with time series decomposition and probabilistic forecasting capabilities. Distinguishing from models based on time series pre-decomposition, our proposed framework can decompose the series into trend components and seasonal components in real time to achieve end-to-end forecasting. We apply this framework to four state-of-the-art deep time series models and test their performance on four synthetic datasets and the WTI oil price dataset. The results show that the seasonal decomposition-based framework can significantly improve the point and probabilistic forecasting accuracy of the original models. Most of the research on rural youth has focused on the material conditions that cause their migration to cities, but it has not tended to address sociocultural dimensions, such as those concerning leisure and what might condition the processes of migration among young people. The aim of this study is to contrast the discourse and representations that young people have regarding leisure with the festive practices that they carry out in Spanish villages. The fieldwork consisted of 13 discussion groups and 38 in-depth interviews (N = 118), with participants aged between 15 and 24 years. The results show that: (1) young people construct their idea of partying through dominant, dichotomous and unequal rural–urban representations, demonstrating the presence of traditional stereotypes around rurality; (2) the village becomes desirable as a place for partying at specific times of the year, such as local festivals; (3) the practices of rural youth call into question this normative imaginary, as is also shown by their adaptation, belonging and agency in the construction and management of leisure. Getting rid of stereotypes about rurality and creating positive thinking about the leisure possibilities in villages can lead young people to see it as a space for opportunities and personal development. Optimization of castor bean (Ricinus communis L.) cultivation methods using biostimulants in an arid climate Esmaeilian, Yaser Babaeian, Mahdi Caballero Calvo, Andrés Arid climate Biostimulants Principal component analysis Ricinus communis In arid areas, low soil fertility, an imbalance of nutrients, and the inability of crops to absorb some nutrients are among the main constraints on crop production. The use of biological fertilizers and biostimulants can be a suitable solution. A 2-year field experiment was conducted as a factorial experiment based on a randomized complete block design with three replications to study the response of castor bean to arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and amino acid biostimulant (AAB) (foliar, soil, and combined application methods). Findings showed that plants inoculated with AMF had better performance: the biological and seed yields were increased by an average of 20.9 and 26.4% over the 2 years of the experiment. The yield components showed a 14.0 to 18.6% increase, and the water productivity (WP) was improved by 13.9%. The seed oil content was increased by 5.1%: linoleic acid, an oil fatty acid, showed the highest response, with an increase of 10.0%. Among the AAB treatments, the combined application method (CAM) brought the best results. The highest increases in biological and seed yields (68.4 and 63.2%, respectively) were obtained from the CAM treatment. The WP was improved by 67.8% and the seed oil content showed an increase of 9.4%. Among the fatty acids, the highest increase (24.4%) belonged to linoleic acid. The results show a positive and significant response of castor beans to biostimulants, which indicates that replacing chemicals with biological fertilizers could be a promising approach to the cultivation of castor beans in arid climates. Esta problemática se observa aún más en los ambientes nocturnos, donde se experimentan diversos tipos de encuentros, con frecuencia, fortuitos y mediados por el uso de drogas, desembocando en prácticas sexuales inseguras. Sin embargo, este aspecto no es tratado con la debida importancia, tanto en los medios, en las políticas de salud y educativas como en la educación familiar. El presente artículo aborda el ocio nocturno, el consumo de drogas y la sexualidad de los jóvenes en la ciudad de Granada. Para ello, se realiza una investigación cualitativa, mediante un estudio de casos, en el que se realizaron 28 entrevistas semiestructuradas (14 hombres y 14 mujeres) en espacios nocturnos (pubs, discotecas, bare...), al objeto de analizar las dinámicas desarrolladas, los estilos de vida y la formación y/o conocimientos sobre educación sexual. Los resultados indican que, el 82% de estos jóvenes buscan espacios donde consumir drogas, especialmente alcohol, divertirse y relacionarse con las personas de su interés sexual. Esto supone encuentros sexuales inseguros para el 89,3%, generándose diversos riesgos para contraer infecciones de transmisión sexual o embarazos no deseados. Con todo, el 57,2% de los jóvenes expresan la falta de una correcta formación y educación sexual, por parte de padres y profesionales de la educación, obteniendo la información mediante los iguales, internet y redes en línea, lo cual requiere de una respuesta socioeducativa coherente a la realidad de este colectivo Drug use and sexual practice are associated with practices in society, often carried out with situations of risk, especially in young people, due to a lifestyle to meet needs immediately and pleasantly. This problem is seen even more in nocturnal environments, where different types of encounters are experienced, frequently, strengths and means for the use of drugs, leading to unsafe sexual practices. However, this aspect is not treated with importance, both in the media, in health and educational policies and in family education. This article deals with nightlife, drug consumption and sexuality of young people in the city of Granada. For this, a qualitative research is carried out, through a case study, in which 28 semi-structured interviews (14 men and 14 women) were carried out in night spaces (pubs, discos, bars ...), in order to analyze the dynamics developed, Lifestyles and training and / or knowledge about sex education. The results indicate that 82% of these young people seek spaces where drugs are consumed, especially alcohol, have fun and interact with people of their sexual interest. This implies unsafe sexual encounters for 89.3%, generating different risks for contracting sexually transmitted infections or unwanted pregnancies. The study objective was to determine the incidence of cataracts in a cohort of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for chronic coronary total occlusion (CTO) and its association with radiation dose. The study analyzed the incidence of cataracts during the follow-up of 126 patients who underwent chronic total coronary PCI, using Cox regression to identify predictive factors of cataract development. The study included 126 patients, 86.9% male, with a mean age of 60.5 years (range, 55.0–68.0 years). Twenty-three (18.2% n = 23) developed cataracts during a mean follow-up of 49.5 months (range 37.3–64.5 months). A higher incidence was observed in patients who received more than 5 Gy (29.0% vs. 14.7%, Hazard ratio (HR = 2.84 [1.19–6.77]). Multivariate analysis revealed a relationship between cataract development during the follow-up and a receipt of radiation dose >5 Gy (HR = 2.60, 95% confidence interval [CI 1.03–6.61]; p = 0.03), presence or history of predisposing eye disease (HR = 4.42, CI:1.57–12.40), diabetes (HR = 3.33 [1.22–9.24]), and older age, as in >57 (HR, 6.40 [1.81–22.61]). An elevated incidence of cataracts was observed in patients after PCI for CTO. Las tablas estadísticas se utilizan con frecuencia en la Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO), pero son escasos los instrumentos de evaluación que engloben las diferentes variables involucradas en su comprensión. Para cubrir esta carencia, se presenta un cuestionario que considera las principales variables y destrezas identificadas en la investigación sobre las tablas estadísticas incluidas en los libros de texto y su comprensión, junto a las directrices curriculares. Se describe el proceso de construcción y validación del instrumento y se aportan los índices de dificultad de los ítems, la fiabilidad del cuestionario y el efecto de las variables de tarea en su aplicación a una muestra de 128 estudiantes españoles de 3.º de la ESO. Se complementa con la descripción de los principales conflictos semióticos identificados y del nivel de lectura alcanzado en los ítems. How quality of life is measured in studies of nutritional intervention: a systematic review Pemau, Raquel Clapés González-Palacios, Patricia Kerr, Kirk W. Nutrition Quality of life Health outcomes Background Nutrition care can positively affect multiple aspects of patient’s health; outcomes are commonly evaluated on the basis of their impact on a patient’s (i) illness-specific conditions and (ii) health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Our systematic review examined how HRQoL was measured in studies of nutritional interventions. To help future researchers select appropriate Quality of Life Questionnaires (QoLQ), we identified commonly-used instruments and their uses across populations in different regions, of different ages, and with different diseases. Methods We searched EMCare, EMBASE, and Medline databases for studies that had HRQoL and nutrition intervention terms in the title, the abstract, or the MeSH term classifications “quality of life” and any of “nutrition therapy”, “diet therapy”, or “dietary supplements” and identified 1,113 studies for possible inclusion.We then reviewed titles, abstracts, and full texts to identify studies for final inclusion. Results Our review of titles, abstracts, and full texts resulted in the inclusion of 116 relevant studies in our final analysis. Our review identified 14 general and 25 disease-specific QoLQ. The most-used general QoLQ were the Short- Form 36-Item Health Survey (SF-36) in 27 studies and EuroQol 5-Dimension, (EQ-5D) in 26 studies. The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of life Questionnaire (EORTC-QLQ), a cancer-specific QoLQ, was the most frequently used disease-specific QoLQ (28 studies). Disease-specific QoLQ were also identified for nutrition-related diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and dysphagia. Sixteen studies used multiple QoLQ, of which eight studies included both general and disease-specific measures of HRQoL. The most studied diseases were cancer (36 studies) and malnutrition (24 studies). There were few studies focused on specific age-group populations, with only 38 studies (33%) focused on adults 65 years and older and only 4 studies focused on pediatric patients. Regional variation in QoLQ use was observed, with EQ-5D used more frequently in Europe and SF-36 more commonly used in North America. Conclusions Use of QoLQ to measure HRQoL is well established in the literature; both general and disease-specific instruments are now available for use. We advise further studies to examine potential benefits of using both general and disease-specific QoLQ to better understand the impact of nutritional interventions on HRQoL. Moreover these mental health symptoms adversely affect the verbal fluency of the elderly. We examined the relationship between depression and loneliness with verbal fluency in people aged 50 years or older. Method: Research data were collected during the pilot study of the Longitudinal Aging Study in Spain (ELES) in which a representative sample of non-institutionalized Spanish older people was assessed. Here, the cross-sectional data for 962 participants were analysed using hierarchical regressions, controlling for age, education level, overall cognitive functioning, social networks and satisfaction with family. Results: Higher levels of cognitive functioning were associated with higher verbal fluency. Females showed higher levels of phonological fluency. Neither depression nor loneliness were significant predictors of phonological fluency but loneliness was a significant predictor of semantic fluency. For mild levels of loneliness, the rate of decline in semantic fluency slows in the oldest ages. In contrast, for severe loneliness the rate of decline in semantic fluency increases in the oldest ages. Conclusions: Depressive symptoms, loneliness and cognitive impairment are all prominent in ageing and therefore their impact on ageing needs to be better understood. Se pretende conocer, de una parte, sus hábitos de comunicación científica (información y publicación) y de otra, sus opiniones y percepciones acerca de los criterios, indicadores bibliométricos y sistemas de evaluación de la investigación. La encuesta consta de 22 preguntas, 21 cerradas y 1 abierta. Se invitó a 541 investigadores a participar en una encuesta online, contestando 201, lo que supone una tasa de respuesta global de 37%, con diferencias significativas entre Filosofía (30,53%) y Filosofía Moral (52,8%). Participan investigadores pertenecientes a 32 universidades de todas las categorías profesionales (becarios pre y postdoctorales, asociados, ayudantes doctores, contratados doctores, titulares, catedráticos). En el marco de la jornada anual de la Asociación Española de Ética y Filosofía Política se celebró un grupo de discusión en el que participaron 26 investigadores de las áreas de Ética y Filosofía con una duración de 70 minutos. Por último, se realizaron 14 entrevistas a investigadores que fueron seleccionados atendiendo a variables de afiliación, categoría profesional, género y áreas de trabajo de manera que se garantizase la máxima pluralidad de perfiles. Las entrevistas semiestructuradas tuvieron una duración media de 35 minutos. Las prácticas de comunicación científica predominantes entre los profesores e investigadores españoles de Filosofía y Filosofía Moral son las siguientes: Usan fuentes diversas para buscar información aunque prefieren hacerlo en los catálogos de las bibliotecas, Google, Google Scholar y Dialnet. Emplean preferentemente libros, artículos de revistas y capítulos para publicar sus hallazgos. Se decantan por el español y el inglés como lenguas de publicación aunque aceptan otros idiomas Seleccionan las editoriales y revistas donde publicar atendiendo al prestigio, la especialización temática del medio y el no tener que pagar por publicar. Existe un consenso absoluto respecto a que la revisión por pares para la selección y evaluación de las publicaciones es una práctica extendida en el campo y es un procedimiento adecuado para evaluar la calidad de una publicación. Asimismo, la mayoría considera que la investigación que reciba financiación pública debería publicarse en abierto sin excepciones. Muchos de los profesores declaran haber pagado a una editorial por ver publicado su libro o capítulo de libro, pero son una minoría los que lo han hecho alguna vez en el caso de los artículos. No se percibe un gran entusiasmo por las nuevas plataformas digitales de difusión siendo las más utilizadas Academia.edu, Google Scholar y ResearchGate. Respecto a los criterios y procedimientos empleados para valorar las publicaciones y el rendimiento científico los investigadores piensan que:  La revisión por pares, la presencia en repertorios y bases de datos bibliográficas, así como la repercusión social y cultural son los criterios mejor valorados para reflejar la calidad de las publicaciones.  Los investigadores de Filosofía conocen y valoran especialmente los indicadores bibliométricos que miden el impacto de las revistas (SJR, Factor de impacto del JCR, Citescore) así como el índice H.  Más de la mitad de los investigadores está descontenta con la importancia otorgada a las publicaciones y su forma de valorarlas por las agencias de evaluación españolas. Aunque el descontento es mayor con ANECA que con CNEAI. Aflora un fuerte cuestionamiento del uso de indicadores cuantitativos, especialmente del factor de impacto de las revistas, de cuyo devenir consideran que depende la carrera investigadora. El sistema de evaluación del rendimiento investigador aplicado en España ha producido, según los investigadores encuestados, diversos tipos de efectos:  Positivos: incentiva la investigación y evita el conformismo, fomenta la imparcialidad y publicidad siendo un freno a la arbitrariedad, nepotismo y endogamia localista, ayuda la incorporación de la mujer a la universidad.  Negativos: cambio de los hábitos de publicación, alteración de las agendas de investigación, pérdida de la pasión por investigar, minusvaloración de la docencia, aparición de ansiedad, estrés, y depresión en los investigadores. Una de las peores consecuencias es la proliferación de malas prácticas en la publicación científica. Entre las conductas deshonestas más abundantes se señalan la publicación duplicada y el autoplagio, seguidas del uso de influencias personales y la manipulación de citas. Se argumenta que una buena metodologí­a e interpretación son esenciales en cualquier ámbito de conocimiento para poder extraer conclusiones válidas que se correspondan con la realidad. La crí­tica que se lleva a cabo permite establecer conclusiones en la dirección opuesta a las del Barómetro. Hay que reconfigurar la categorización de la frecuencia de lectura, pues si no, es más que normal que en España buena parte de la población sea lectora frecuente o habitual (máxima frecuencia en el Barómetro), leyendo tan solo al menos una vez al mes. Por otro lado, si tal y como se argumenta, tres de cada cuatro personas no asisten a la biblioteca en nuestro paí­s, no se deberí­a alardear con optimismo sobre la valoración de las pocas personas que sí­ las utilizan sin aludir a las que no lo hacen. La poca asistencia y el escaso interés por ella se argumentan con el hecho de que las bibliotecas públicas solo estarí­an cubriendo el 9,2% de lo que la población lee. A todo ello se añaden dos consideraciones: la primera, basada en la experiencia personal del autor de este trabajo, trata sobre cómo podrí­a mejorar la evaluación y el uso de bibliotecas en España si las comparásemos con las de otros paí­ses; la segunda, plantea el interés por llevar a cabo estudios de personas no usuarias más que de usuarias por el hecho de que tres de cada cuatro personas no van a la biblioteca en España. Como conclusión, se pone en relación la mala interpretación y las malas definiciones de la metodologí­a del Barómetro analizado con el efecto Pigmalión del campo de la pedagogí­a y la educación. Al menos las personas profesionales e investigadoras del campo hemos de ser conscientes de la situación real de las bibliotecas y la lectura más allá del tono optimista de dicho Barómetro. This paper presents a critique of the interpretation of the results and some other methodological issues of the 2019 Spanish report on reading Barómetro de hábitos de lectura y compra de libros en España. It is argued that both the methodology and interpretation are essential in any field of knowledge in order to reach valid conclusions that are in accordance with reality. The critique depicts a different scenario regarding the conclusions of the analyzed Spanish report. The categories used for the frequency of reading must be reconfigured. Otherwise, it is difficult not to conclude that people in Spain are avid readers (only by reading at least once a month). On the other hand, if three out of four people in Spain do not use the library, the optimistic conclusion regarding the evaluation rating of the few people who do use libraries should be revised to include the information about those who do not use them. Also, the poor attendance and scarce interest in such use are justified by the fact that public libraries only cover 9.2% of the total reading by the population. Thereafter, two ideas are presented: the first, based on the personal experience of the author of this work, relates to how the evaluation and use of libraries in Spain could be improved by comparison with libraries in other countries; the second suggests that carrying out studies of non-users could be interesting, due to the fact that three out of four people in Spain do not use the library. In conclusion, the misinterpretation of and the definitions of the methodology in the analyzed Spanish report are related to the Pygmalion effect from the field of Pedagogy and Education. En España, en el último año se ha creado una gran expectación debido a la erupción volcánica producida en la Isla de la Palma. En este trabajo se pretende estudiar la imagen de volcán que posee el alumnado de Primaria en distintos lugares de la Tierra, con volcanes (con alta o baja actividad) y sin ellos. Los resultados de este estudio, a partir de una muestra de 251 dibujos de escolares de cinco centros educativos de España e Italia, indican que el modelo mental de volcán del alumnado de Primaria está más influenciado por lo que ven en los medios audiovisuales, especialmente de los medios de comunicación, que por la existencia o no de volcanes en la región donde habitan. Volcanic activity affects various areas of the Earth, with great impact on humans and the natural environment. In Spain, in the last year a great expectation has been created due to the volcanic eruption produced in the Island of La Palma. The aim of this paper is to study the image of a volcano that the primary school students have in different places on Earth, with volcanoes (with high or low activity) and without them. The results of this study with a sample of 251 drawings of schoolchildren from five schools in Spain and Italy, indicate that the mental model of volcano of primary school students is more influenced by what they see in the audiovisual media, especially of the media, than for the existence or not of volcanoes in the region where they live. Para aclarar los motivos, la extensión y la intensidad de esta influencia, Ángel Esteban reconstruye minuciosamente la becqueriana huella en la poesía hispanoamericana de finales del XIX. Bécquer pudo formar parte de un Romanticismo típico si hubiera nacido unas décadas antes, y habría entrado de lleno en un Modernismo consolidado si lo hubiera hecho antes. Esta atipicidad de Bécquer favoreció su mejor comprensión por parte de los poetas modernistas. Este método permite identificar aspectos clave relacionados con la rúbrica, considerada un instrumento eficaz para evaluar el conocimiento adquirido, especialmente en contextos que fomentan la creación y el desarrollo de elementos narrativos y visuales. Las rúbricas aplicadas a materiales basados en NTE no solo facilitan la evaluación del aprendizaje, sino que también promueven una práctica docente más inclusiva. Este enfoque holístico se adapta a las necesidades del estudiantado, reconociendo su papel como prosumidor de conocimiento en la era digital. Además, la implementación de recursos de evaluación innovadores responde a las demandas de las nuevas generaciones, favoreciendo un aprendizaje significativo y contextualizado. Así, este estudio busca contribuir al desarrollo de estrategias evaluativas alineadas con los desafíos educativos contemporáneos, con el fin de potenciar la calidad y la relevancia del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Abstract: This document presents the third phase of a doctoral research focused on the evaluation of Educational Transmedia Narratives (NTE) and the educational material "El Bogotazo", developed using the INAEP methodology. Through a qualitative approach that includes interviews, the opinions and experiences of ten basic secondary education teachers in a private school in Colombia were analyzed. This method allows identifying key aspects related to the rubric, considered an effective instrument to evaluate the knowledge acquired, especially in contexts that encourage the creation and development of narrative and visual elements. Rubrics applied to NTE-based materials not only facilitate the assessment of learning, but also promote more inclusive teaching practice. This holistic approach adapts to the needs of students, recognizing their role as knowledge prosumers in the digital age. Furthermore, the implementation of innovative assessment resources responds to the demands of new generations, promoting meaningful and contextualized learning. Thus, this study seeks to contribute to the development of evaluation strategies that align with contemporary educational challenges, enhancing the quality and relevance of the teaching-learning process. This study assessed the impact of culinary techniques on Fe bioaccessibility (FeBA) using an in vitro digestion/fermentation model with fecal inocula from children and adults. FeBA in the small intestine was significantly lower in plant-based (12.2 ± 9.91%; 1.05 ± 0.85 mg/kg) than in animal-based foods (16.8 ± 11.7%; 1.25 ± 0.86 mg/kg) (p < 0.0001). Cooking methods such as grilling, frying, and roasting enhanced FeBA in plant foods, likely due to Maillard reaction products. In allergic children, FeBA in the large intestine (1.77 ± 2.07%; 0.13 ± 0.17 mg/kg) was significantly higher than in healthy, celiac, and obese children (p < 0.0001), possibly linked to colonic dyshomeostasis, oxidation, and inflammation. Overall, FeBA depends on food type, preparation method, and gut health status, and is mainly driven by small intestinal absorption. One means entails the use of Landsat 8 images, for which mono window (MW), single channel (SC) and split window (SW) algorithms are needed. Knowing the precision and seasonal variability of the LST can improve urban climate alteration studies, which ultimately help make sustainable decisions in terms of the greater resilience of cities. In this study we determine the LST of a mid-sized city, Granada (Spain), applying six Landsat 8 algorithms that are validated using ambient temperatures. In addition to having a unique geographical location, this city has high pollution and high daily temperature variations, so that it is a very appropriate site for study. Altogether, 11 images with very low cloudiness were taken into account, distributed between November 2019 and October 2020. After data validation by means of R2 statistical analysis, the root mean square error (RMSE), mean bias error (MBE) and standard deviation (SD) were determined to obtain the coefficients of correlation. Panel data analysis is presented as a novel element with respect to the methods usually used. Results reveal that the SC algorithms prove more effective and reliable in determining the LST of the city studied here. Hit by the Virtual Trolley: When is Experimental Ethics Unethical? In the last decade, social neuroscience and experimental moral psychology have gone beyond the studies with mere text-based hypothetical moral dilemmas. In this article, I present the rationale behind testing the actual behaviour in more realistic scenarios through Virtual Reality and summarize the body of evidence raised by the experiments with virtual trolley scenarios. Then, I approach the argument of Ramirez and LaBarge (2020), who claim that the virtual simulation of the Footbridge version of the trolley dilemma is an unethical research practice, and I raise some objections to it. El primero, antiguo comunero, tuvo una actuación destacada como embajador suyo ante la Puerta Otomana. Fragoso por su parte, perteneciente a una noble familia genovesa de filiación profrancesa, tuvo que exiliarse a Venecia cuando su república natal pasó a ser tutelada por el emperador. Y se convirtió en el mayor enemigo de la causa imperial en Italia, donde costeó cuantiosos sobornos a personajes influyentes de Venecia para conseguir su apoyo a Francia. Los frecuentes viajes de Rincón de Francia a Constantinopla y viceversa, en los que Fragoso le escoltaba, fueron el comienzo de su relación y, en uno de ellos, caerían asesinados, probablemente, por orden de Fernando de Ávalos, marqués del Vasto y gobernador español de Milán. The present work deals with the biographies of two characters, Antonio Rincón and César Fragoso, taking the references of the Spanish ambassadors whose of them served in Venice and Genoa during the sixteenth century. They were agents of the French King Francis I. The first of them, an old comunero, had an outstanding performance as the ambassador of Francis I in Constantinople. The second one, Fragoso, was a member of an aristocratic family of Genoa concerning to pro-french faction. He was exiled in Venice when his native Republic became supervised by the Emperor Charles the Fifth and he became the greatest enemy of the imperial cause in Italy, getting the support of many families of Venice for France. The several trips of Rincón from France to Constantinople and viceversa, in which he was protected by Fragoso, they were the beginning of their relationship. Mechanical, Electronic Design and Implementation of a CanSaT Gil Martín, Irene Roldán Aranda, Andrés María GranaSAT - Grupo de Electronica Aeroespacial CanSaT Competition CanSat ESA Hardware Software Firmware Reverse Engineering PCB Altium Designer SolidWorks VS Code PlatformIO VNA In-Circuit Debugger This Bachelor’s Thesis is addressed for developing an improved CanSat aimed to become the new kit used on the CanSat Competition organized by the ESA. The improvements are meant not only for improving the kit’s efficiency but also to make a well-informed instruction manual as a way to get students to comprehend better the device’s hardware. By understanding this hardware, they will be getting a closer look of the Aerospace world. It should be remarked that the Open CanSat kit, designed by Czech engineers, is a kit used in the ESA CanSat competition in all Europe. Therefore, our final and most ambitious goal is to develop a kit that would substitute the Czech kit and ideally used by all European Competitors. The main purpose of this project is developing an improved CanSat kit able to compete in the market with a already-existing Czech CanSat kit. This kit will be composed of two differentiated blocks: a transmitter which will be introduced on the CanSat ”can” and launched for measuring several parameters (temperature,pressure,etc) and a receiver which will be on the ground receiving the measures taken by the transmitter. Note that the transmitter will be composed of three differentiated PCBs while the receiver will be composed of only one PCB. The development and implementation of this project is performed following a Reverse Engineering method giving realism and getting the student closer to professional techniques, widely recognized in the job market. Furthermore, the complexity and multidisciplinary scope of this Bachelor’s Thesis allows covering not only the different specialties of the Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering but also acquiring knowledge and transverse abilities from other fields of the Engineering, such as Mechanical engineering field. Besides specific software of each of the mentioned areas, advanced techniques of machining (aluminum milling), manufacturing (solder reflow) or characterization of different devices (lithium batteries, antennas...) among others, have been analyzed and applied. The result of the exposed culminates with the obtainment of a complete and functional CanSat kit, which provides a more economic and efficient solution to the already used Open CanSat kit designed by the Czech engineers. Moreover, this Bachelor’s Thesis is aimed to demonstrate the knowledge acquired by the author during the degree’s academic years exhibiting the acquired knowledge about electronic and PCB design and firmware implementation (using RTOS instead of a SuperLoop architecture p.e). It should also be a proof of the student’s abilities to handle tools such as Altium Designer® 19, SolidWorks®, VS Code, PlatformIO, VNA and a In-Circuit Debugger. Even though we aim for developing a functional product, it would be a great success if the knowledge acquired during this project surpass the basic-knowledge acquired during the academic years at the expense of not having a complete functional product. Consequently, we are not focusing so much on having a ready to commercialize product (it is a long shot that would take more time than the one we have for developing this Bachelor Thesis) but in compacting all the knowledge acquired during the five years of university as well as gain the necessary skills that an engineer should have before starting to work on any company. Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado tiene como objetivo el desarrollo de un CanSat mejorado destinado a convertirse en el nuevo kit utilizado en el CanSat Competition organizado por la ESA. Las mejoras están destinadas no solo a mejorar la eficiencia del kit, sino también a crear un manual de instrucciones bien informado como una forma de que los estudiantes comprendan mejor el hardware del dispositivo. Al comprender este Hardware (HW), podrán ver más de cerca el mundo aeroespacial. Cabe destacar que el kit Open CanSat, diseñado por ingenieros checos, es un kit utilizado en la competición ESA CanSat en toda Europa. Por lo tanto, nuestro objetivo final y más ambicioso es desarrollar un kit que sustituya al kit checo y que sea idealmente utilizado por todos los competidores europeos. El objetivo principal de este proyecto es desarrollar un kit CanSat mejorado capaz de competir en el mercado con un kit CanSat checo ya existente. Este kit estará compuesto por dos bloques diferenciados: un transmisor que se introducirá en la "lata" del CanSat y se lanzará para medir varios parámetros (temperatura, presión, etc) y un receptor que estará en tierra recibiendo las medidas tomadas por el transmisor. Tengase en cuenta que el transmisor estará compuesto por tres PCB diferentes, mientras que el receptor estará compuesto por una única PCB. El desarrollo e implementación de este proyecto se ha realizado siguiendo un proceso de Ingeniería Inversa dando realismo y acercando al alumno a técnicas profesionales, ampliamente reconocidas en el mercado laboral. Además, la complejidad y alcance multidisciplinar de esta Tesis de Grado permite abarcar no solo las diferentes especialidades del Grado en Ingeniería de Telecomunicación sino también adquirir conocimientos y habilidades transversales de otros campos de la Ingeniería, como el campo de la Ingeniería Mecánica. Además del software específico de cada una de las áreas mencionadas, se han analizado y aplicado técnicas avanzadas de mecanizado (fresado de aluminio), fabricación (reflujo de soldadura) o caracterización de diferentes dispositivos (baterías de litio, antenas ...) entre otros. El resultado de lo expuesto culmina con la obtención de un completo y funcional kit CanSat, que aporta una solución más económica y eficiente al ya utilizado kit Open CanSat diseñado por los ingenieros checos. Además, este Trabajo de Fin de Grado tiene como objetivo demostrar los conocimientos adquiridos por la autora durante los años académicos delgrado, mostrando los conocimientos adquiridos sobre el diseño electrónico y de PCBs y la implementación de software (utilizando RTOS en lugar de una arquitectura SuperLoop p.e). También debe ser una prueba de las habilidades del estudiante para manejar herramientas como Altium Designer® 19, SolidWorks®, VS Code, PlatformIO, VNA and a In-Circuit Debugger. Hydrochemistry and stable isotopes in a coastal lagoon affected by evaporation, Cabo de Gata (Almería) Sola, Fernando Pulido Bosch, Antonio Vallejos, Angela Seawater Halite Precipitation Salt pan Gypsum Agua de mar Halita Precipitación Salina Yeso Agradecimientos Este trabajo es parte de las líneas generales de investigación promovidas por CEI-MAR Campus de Excelencia International, y ha sido parcialmente financiado por MICINN mediante el proyecto PID2019-108832GB-I00. The Salinas de Cabo de Gata are a natural coastal lagoon that has been anthropically transformed to favor the entry of seawater and its evaporation until saturation in sodium chloride. For this, it is compartmentalized in a series of ponds in which the seawater is guided by a circuit along which the salinity increases. Sediment samples have been taken at the bottom of these ponds and water samples to recognize which hydrogeochemical processes occur along the route. In the first ponds (evaporators) the suspended solids are decanted and carbonate precipitation occurs, along with the formation of pyrite linked to the high concentration of organic matter. On the other hand, in the last ponds (crystallizers) gypsum precipitation occurs when 70% evaporation is reached and, finally, halite when it reaches 90%. This precipitation notably changes the chemical composition of the waters, reducing the concentration of the ions present in the minerals that precipitate. From the isotopic point of view, gypsum precipitation also has its mark, reducing the proportions of 18O/16O and 2H/1H in the pond water. The study of these processes, in a mesoscale system, has great advantages for making palaeoenvironmental inferences at the basin scale, such as knowing what percentage of seawater must be evaporated so that gypsum or halite can precipitate in a basin. Las Salinas de Cabo de Gata son una laguna costera natural transformada antrópicamente para favorecer la entrada de agua de mar y su evaporación hasta la saturación en cloruro sódico. Para ello, está compartimentada en una serie de estanques en los cuales el agua de mar es guiada por un circuito a lo largo del cual se incrementa la salinidad. Se ha tomado una serie de muestras de sedimentos del fondo de estos estanques y de su agua con el fin de reconocer qué procesos hidrogeoquímicos se producen a lo largo del recorrido. En los primeros estanques (evaporadores) se decantan los materiales en suspensión y se produce la precipitación de carbonatos, junto con la formación de pirita ligada a la alta concentración de materia orgánica. Por su parte, en los últimos estanques (cristalizadores) se produce la precipitación de yeso cuando se alcanza el 70% de evaporación y, finalmente, halita al llegar al 90%. Esta precipitación cambia notablemente la composición química de las aguas, disminuyendo la concentración de los iones presentes en los minerales que precipitan. A nivel isotópico, la precipitación de yeso también tiene su impronta, reduciendo las proporciones de 18O/16O y 2H/1H en el agua del estanque. El estudio de estos procesos, en un sistema de mesoescala, tiene grandes ventajas para hacer inferencias paleoambientales a escala de cuenca, como por ejemplo saber qué porcentaje de agua de mar es necesario evaporar para que en una cuenca llegue a precipitar yeso o halita. El objetivo de este trabajo fue estudiar y sintetizar la relación existente entre la práctica de AF y la mejora de las funciones ejecutivas y el rendimiento académico en preescolar, dando una visión general del estado actual de la cuestión. Para ello, se realizó una revisión sistemática, centrada en la identificación de las características generales y la eficacia de los programas de intervención llevados a cabo en este contexto educativo. Para el desarrollo de la misma, se realizó una búsqueda de literatura científica en las bases de datos Web of Science (WOS), Scopus y Proquest. Se utilizaron simultáneamente como términos claves “physical activity”, “academic achievement” y “preschool”, y como operadores booleanos “and” y “or”, y se fijó una muestra válida para este estudio de un total de 18 artículos científicos para la síntesis cualitativa. Los resultados del estudio indican que existe una asociación positiva al integrar la AF en el aula y la mejora de las funciones ejecutivas y los resultados académicos, independientemente del contenido curricular trabajado y del tipo de AF que se utilice. All the new forms were characterised using multiple techniques, PXRD, SC-XRD, DSC, and FTIR. The stability of the forms was studied, and, for the more stable forms, i.e., (lidhcl) forms, the solubility was determined through FTIR analysis. The new crystalline forms obtained with (lidhcl) and the three coformers showed an interesting steric stabilisation mechanism of the oxidation of hydroxybenzenes and showed good physicochemical properties with respect to (lidhcl), constituting a mechanism of modulation of the physicochemical properties. Según Kemmis y MacTaggart (1988), esta metodología se enfoca en la reflexión crítica, el cambio y la mejora continua. En este sentido, la investigación-acción no solo busca la generación de conocimiento, sino también la aplicación práctica de este conocimiento en la resolución de problemas reales. Las posibilidades formativas de la investigación-acción participativa residen en su capacidad para promover un aprendizaje significativo a través de la experiencia práctica y la reflexión colaborativa. Este enfoque ofrece a los participantes oportunidades para desarrollar habilidades y conocimientos de manera contextualizada, contribuyendo al crecimiento personal y profesional. Por otro lado, las fuerzas culturales, según Caballero-San José et al. (2021), juegan un papel importante en la investigación-acción, influenciando la forma en que se lleva a cabo el proceso y el impacto que tiene en contextos culturales específicos. Antiretroviral therapy (ART) has been shown to decrease the incidence of cervical carcinoma in women with HIV. We sought to: 1) describe the prevalence and grade of anal dysplasia and HPV infection in our study subjects; 2) analyze the grade of correlation between anal cytology, PCR of high-risk HPV, and histology; 3) identify the factors associated with the appearance of $AIN2 lesions. Design: Cross-sectional, prospective study. Methods: A cohort of HIV-positive males (n = 140, mean age = 37 years) who have sex with males (MSM) had epidemiological, clinical and analytical data collected. Anal mucosa samples were taken for cytology, HPV PCR genotyping, and anoscopy for histological analysis. Results: Within the cohort, 77.1% were being treated with ART, 8.5% anoscopy findings were AIN2, and 11.4% carcinoma in situ; 74.2% had high-risk (HR), 59.7% low-risk (LR) HPV genotypes and 46.8% had both. The combination of cytology with PCR identifying HR-HPV better predicts the histology findings than either of these factors alone. Logistic regression highlighted ART as a protective factor against $AIN2 lesions (OR: 0.214; 95%CI: 0.054–0.84). Anal/genital condylomas (OR: 4.26; 95%CI: 1.27–14.3), and HPV68 genotype (OR: 10.6; 95%CI: 1.23–91.47) were identified as risk factors. Conclusions: In our cohort, ART has a protective effect against dysplastic anal lesions. Anal/genital warts and HPV68 genotype are predictors of $AIN2 lesions. Can International Trade Help Africa’s Least Developed Countries Achieve SDG-1? This work analyzes the evolution of international trade in goods and services between Africa’s Least Developed Countries and customers and suppliers from other countries between 2005 and 2015, based on the information provided by UNCTAD and the World Bank. The results confirm a greater degree of trade openness and especially an increase in service imports. Overall, the data show that the purchases made in the international market have a greater marginal effect on GDP than sales, leading to the conclusion that changes in trade policy are needed, at both international and national level. Actions should be aimed at ensuring that the growing integration of these economies in the world trade system does not result in continued deficits in the trade balance but, on the contrary, does contribute to GDP growth and poverty reduction. Le premier, dans La Vocation suspendue, par la déconstruction d’une partie du discours théologique qui a tendu à légitimer la conquista et ses conséquences; le second, dans La montagne sacrée par une mise en abyme modélisante, qui oppose, dans un combat sanglant, des crapauds représentant les conquistadores, et des caméléons les Indiens. Dans ces deux films, la signification politique du récit s’accompagne d’une déconstruction de celui-ci, associée à une forme particulière d’iconoclasme, qui constitue une remise en question du texte culturel initial et de sa figuration en images. Ces réalisateurs revisitent un second texte culturel, celui de la vie comme songe et du theatrum mundi, qui met en doute la réalité et l’image. Enfin, ce travail de sape effectué permet un transfert du sacré à l’art ; le chamanisme ruizien et le syncrétisme jodorowskien se substituant à l’imagerie religieuse chrétienne. In these two movies, the political meaning of the narrative comes along with a demolition of this one, associated with a particular form of iconoclasm, which constitutes a questioning of the initial cultural text and its representation in images. These directors at the same time revisit a second cultural text, that of the life as a dream and of the theatrum mundi, which also questions the reality of the image. Finally, this destruction allows a transfer of the sacred to the art; the ruizian shamanism and the jodorowskian syncretism tending to be substituted for the Christian religious imaging. Normal Faulting in the 1923 Berdún Earthquake and Postorogenic Extension in the Pyrenees Stich, Daniel Martín, Rosa Batlló, Josep Macià, Ramón Mancilla Pérez, Flor de Lis Morales Soto, José The 10 July 1923 earthquake near Berdún (Spain) is the largest instrumentally recorded event in the Pyrenees. We recover old analog seismograms and use 20 hand-digitized waveforms for regional moment tensor inversion. We estimate moment magnitude Mw 5.4, centroid depth of 8 km, and a pure normal faulting source with strike parallel to the mountain chain (N292°E), dip of 66° and rake of −88°. The new mechanism fits into the general predominance of normal faulting in the Pyrenees and extension inferred from Global Positioning System data. The unique location of the 1923 earthquake, near the south Pyrenean thrust front, shows that the extensional regime is not confined to the axial zone where high topography and the crustal root are located. Together with seismicity near the northern mountain front, this indicates that gravitational potential energy in the western Pyrenees is not extracted locally but induces a wide distribution of postorogenic deformation. Dicha línea de investigación es la crítica al sistema agrícola industrial del cual obtenemos el alimento. El mismo es el mayor responsable (junto al sector ganadero) de la contaminación y pérdida de ecosistemas de vital importancia en el planeta Tierra. La obra resultante con la que culmina esta investigación, ha sido un álbum ilustrado que habla de la importancia del uso de sistemas agrícolas respetuosos con el suelo, y que ofrece una lectura tanto para jóvenes como para adultos. Aunque la mayoría de álbumes ilustrados cuentan con diez o doce páginas ilustradas, el que presento cuenta con dieciséis ilustraciones a doble página, que resultan en un total de 32. Estas ilustraciones complementan al texto y llevan el peso narrativo de la historia. La técnica con la que se han realizado combina lo tradicional (grafito, tinta y acuarela) con el retoque digital. Abstract: The work that follows is the culmination of a line of research developed in recent years. This line of research is the criticism of the industrial agricultural system from which we obtain food. The resulting work that culminates this research, has been an illustrated album that speaks of the importance of the use of agricultural systems respectful with the soil, and that offers a reading for both young people and adults. Although most illustrated books have ten or twelve illustrated pages, the one that presents an account with sixteen double-page illustrations, which is completed in a total of 32. These illustrations complement the text and bear the narrative weight of the story. The Effects of Mandatory and Voluntary Regulatory Pressures on Firms’ Environmental Strategies: A Review and Recommendations for Future Research Aragón Correa, Juan Alberto Marcus, Alfred A. Vogel, David mandatory and voluntary environmental pressures regulation environmental strategy performance corporate responses This paper presents an in-depth review of scholarship on how mandatory and voluntary regulatory pressures on firms affect their environmental strategies and performance. While mandatory regulation typically has a strong and positive influence on firms’ environmental performance, studies of the effects of voluntary pressures demonstrate that by themselves they are unlikely to bring about significant improvement in environmental outcomes. Accordingly, future research should focus on the complementary impacts of mandatory and voluntary programs on organizations’ environmental strategies and performance rather than analyzing their separate influence. Scholars should examine i) more than a single environmental pressure at a given time, ii) more than one response to the regulatory context, iii) the synergy between mandatory and voluntary pressures, iv) the impact of imperfect enforcement, and v) the political influence corporations exert on the mandatory and voluntary pressures that affect them. This essay argues that managers react to environmental regulations in different ways depending on how they understand the multiple pressures that they confront and their opportunities to influence the outcomes. The aim of this research has been to analyze the influence of sociodemographic factors and knowledge in pedagogy on labor market insertion, expectations about the degree, and employability of students of the degree in pedagogy at the University of Granada, Spain. The methodology used was based on a cross-sectional study design through a survey administered to a total of 334 students. The results obtained show that there are differences between the two genders. Regarding the year of study, no significant differences were found. Knowledge about the profile of the pedagogue is a factor that does influence expectations about the degree, job placement, and employability. However, expectations about the degree did not influence job placement, although employability did. Individual mapping of large polymorphic shrubs in high mountains using satellite images and deep learning Khaldi, Rohaifa Tabik, Siham Puertas-Ruíz, Sergio Peñas De Giles, Julio Hodar Correa, José Antonio Zamora Rodríguez, Regino Jesús Alcaraz Segura, Domingo Vegetation mapping Remote sensing Deep learning Monitoring the distribution and size of long-living large shrubs, such as junipers, is crucial for assessing the long-term impacts of global change on high-mountain ecosystems. While deep learning models have shown remarkable success in object segmentation, adapting these models to detect shrub species with polymorphic nature remains challenging. In this research, we release a large dataset of individual shrub delineations on freely available satellite imagery and use an instance segmentation model to map all junipers over the treeline for an entire biosphere reserve (Sierra Nevada, Spain). To optimize performance, we introduced a novel dual data construction approach: using photo-interpreted (PI) data for model development and fieldwork (FW) data for validation. To account for the polymorphic nature of junipers during model evaluation, we developed a soft version of the Intersection over Union metric. Finally, we assessed the uncertainty of the resulting map in terms of canopy cover and density of shrubs per size class. Our model achieved an F1-score in shrub delineation of 87.87% on the PI data and 76.86% on the FW data. The R2 and RMSE of the observed versus predicted relationship were 0.63 and 6.67% for canopy cover, and 0.90 and 20.62 for shrub density. The greater density of larger shrubs in lower altitudes and smaller shrubs in higher altitudes observed in the model outputs was also present in the PI and FW data, suggesting an altitudinal uplift in the optimal performance of the species. This study demonstrates that deep learning applied on freely available high-resolution satellite imagery is useful to detect medium to large shrubs of high ecological value at the regional scale, which could be expanded to other high-mountains worldwide and to historical and fothcoming imagery. Spherically symmetric loop quantum gravity: analysis of improved dynamics Gambini, Rodolfo Olmedo Nieto, Javier Antonio Pullin, Jorge We study the ‘improved dynamics’ for the treatment of spherically symmetric space-times in loop quantum gravity introduced by Chiou et al in analogy with the one that has been constructed by Ashtekar, Pawlowski and Singh for the homogeneous space-times. In this dynamics the polymerization parameter is a well motivated function of the dynamical variables, reflecting the fact that the quantum of area depends on them. Contrary to the homogeneous case, its implementation does not trigger undesirable physical properties. We identify semiclassical physical states in the quantum theory and derive the corresponding effective semiclassical metrics. We then discuss some of their properties. Concretely, the space-time approaches sufficiently fast the Schwarzschild geometry at low curvatures. Besides, regions where the singularity is in the classical theory get replaced by a regular but discrete effective geometry with finite and Planck order curvature, regardless of the mass of the black hole. This circumvents trans-Planckian curvatures that appeared for astrophysical black holes in the quantization scheme without the improvement. It makes the resolution of the singularity more in line with the one observed in models that use the isometry of the interior of a Schwarzschild black hole with the Kantowski–Sachs loop quantum cosmologies. The detective novel has also managed to offer a critical analysis of the recent past in order to uncover the dysfunctions of modern day reality in the described region. Uno de los cometidos que tenían que llevar a cabo estos consejos estaba centrado en el inventariado y distribución de las alhajas y ornamentos que esta orden tenía en sus colegios e iglesias. En el caso de Murcia, el inventario efectuado para tal fin, ofrece una panorámica general del estado en el que se encontraba la Iglesia de San Esteban aquel año. Asimismo, la documentación conservada refleja el destino de algunas alhajas y ornamentos que, siguiendo las indicaciones reales, fueron divididas y distribuidas, quedando algunas en el templo original, pasando otras a las parroquias pobres y llegando otras al convento franciscano de Santa Catalina del Monte. En este artículo se analiza este inventario, así como la distribución de sus alhajas y ornamentos, conforme a lo que sucedió en otros territorios españoles, incluyendo el propio caso de Caravaca de la Cruz, con el fin de ofrecer una visión global The expulsion of the Jesuits in 1767 entailed the setting up of a broad administrative system focused on the management of the goods heretofore belonging to the Society of Jesus. Among the tasks that these councils were meant to accomplish appears the inventory and distribution of the silverware and ornaments that had been preserved by this order in its colleges and churches. In the case of Murcia, the executed inventory for that purpose offers an overview of the state of the Church of San Esteban in that year. Additionally, the documentation preserved reflects the destination of the silverware and ornaments: some of them were kept in the temple, some were sent to poorer parishes and some ended up in the Franciscan convent of Santa Catalina del Monte. Se parte de la hipótesis según la cual las tribunas periodísticas fueron instancias esenciales tanto para la instauración del proyecto sanitario del gremio médico como para la prosecución de las luchas de quienes lo objetaron. Las columnas no sólo reflejaron los conflictos y negociaciones producidas, sino que formaron parte de las armas utilizadas por ambas partes. En otros términos, el periodismo fue, en gran medida, la arena y el material primordial de esas contiendas. En esta ocasión en particular intentamos mostrar, en base al estudio de unos pocos casos, los distintos modos a través de los cuales los enemigos de la medicalización recurrieron a la prensa a los fines de hacer oír sus reclamos. Sanadores, médicos extranjeros, magnetizadores e ilusionistas difundieron sus exigencias mediante distintas tácticas que giraban en torno a las publicaciones periódicas (a través de cartas abiertas, entrevistas y artículos desde los cuales se impugnaron las iniciativas de los profesionales). Mixing and circulation at the confluence of two rivers entering a meandering reservoir Ramón Casañas, Cintia Luz Hoyer, Andrea B. Armengol, Joan Dolz, Josep Rueda Valdivia, Francisco José A field data set collected under different conditions is analyzed to characterize the spatial arrangement of two large inflows (Ebro and Segre) with distinct physical-chemical characteristics as they join at the upstream end of Ribarroja reservoir in northern Spain. Given the short average residence time of water in the reservoir, the spatial arrangement of the rivers at their confluence and their mixing rates are likely the drivers of the stratification patterns observed near the dam. In winter, inflows have similar densities—Δρ/ρ0 ≈ O(10−5)—and their spatial distribution is largely determined by inertial forces, and in particular, by the discharge ratio. Downstream of the confluence, both rivers flow side by side and largely unmixed over long distances. In summer, with Δρ/ρ0 of O(10−3), the flow fields at the confluence are largely controlled by buoyancy forces. Atmospheric forcing during strong wind events and centrifugal forces caused by the meandering shape of the reservoir induce significant tilting of the isotherms, leading to localized high mixing rates. Mixing, in general, though is weak at this time of the year. In fall and early winter, density differences are largely controlled by conductivity differences between the incoming flows. The warmer Ebro water, with larger thermal inertia, flows beneath the colder Segre water. The spatial arrangement of the inflows is largely controlled by the discharge ratio and mixing between sources is strong, likely as a result of mixed water being denser than either of the incoming flows. La reseña de cuatro manuales de ELE evidencia que el contenido cultural se presenta todavía como un elemento marginal y desconectado del resto. The goal of this paper is to examine how the theoretical and methodological frameworks of the study of intercultural competence are applied to Second Language Acquisition ( in particular to Spanish) and how intercultural competence is approached in language textbooks. The starting point of this essay is an historical overview of the concept of “culture”, followed by an analysis of how such a concept is addressed in current language pedagogies that consider it as the central topic of L2 classes. Pre- and syn-orogenic evolution of the Variscan Moroccan Mesetas Accotto, Cristina Martínez Poyatos, David Jesús Universidad de Granada. Programa de Doctorado en Ciencias de la Tierra Variscan Moroccan Mesetas Paleogeología The Rheic Ocean was formed by the early Paleozoic drifting of Avalonian (Amazonian-type) terranes from northwest Gondwana. These terranes docked with Laurentia and Baltica during middle Paleozoic time (Acadian/Caledonian orogeny) forming Laurussia. The late Paleozoic Variscan/Alleghanian orogeny resulted from the closure of the Rheic Ocean and the subsequent collision among Laurussia, Gondwana and a number of peri-Gondwanan terranes. In the European portion of the Variscan belt, the Rheic suture is considered to run from Poland to SW Iberia, separating Avalonian terranes to the west from Gondwanan terranes to the east, although true Rheic Ocean ophiolites have not been found yet. To the south, the Rheic suture might reappear in the Mauritanides. In between, the northern Moroccan Variscides, which include the Moroccan Mesetas, are considered part of the northern Gondwana margin involved in the Variscan orogeny, although the trace of the Rheic suture is uncertain or even nonexistent. This Ph.D. Thesis investigates the Paleozoic Moroccan Mesetas, with focus on: (i) sediment provenance according to U-Pb and Hf isotopic analyses on detrital zircon grains, and (ii) the Variscan evolution based on detailed structural analysis of selected areas. The obtained results shed light on: (i) the pre- and syn-orogenic Paleozoic paleogeography, (ii) the Eo-Variscan tectonics, and (iii) the possible location of the Rheic suture. Detrital zircon grains from the pre-orogenic Cambrian-Devonian succession show the predominance of two populations peaked at c. 700-550 Ma (Cadomian/Pan-African orogenies) and c. 2.1 Ga (Eburnean orogeny) ages, and a general lack of Mesoproterozoic and late-Paleoproterozoic (c. 1.8-1.1 Ga) ages. These features are distinctive of the West African Craton (WAC), which therefore can be considered the main sediment source during early-middle Paleozoic time. A Stenian-Tonian (c. 1.0 Ga) detrital zircon population is locally present and points to distant and intermittent NE African sources (e.g., Sahara Metacraton, Arabian-Nubian Shield). Finally, rift-related CambrianOrdovician volcanism provided locally abundant zircon grains in the Cambrian-Lower Ordovician succession. Altogether, these data suggest that the entire region belonged to the northern Gondwana passive margin, with paleogeographic continuity among the subdomains that are traditionally described within the Moroccan Mesetas. The flysch-like Famennian-Tournaisian successions from the Tiflet (northern Western Moroccan Meseta) and Debdou-Mekkam (Eastern Moroccan Meseta) inliers show the presence of a Late Devonian (c. 370 Ma) detrital zircon population, accompanied by a noticeable number of Mesoproterozoic-late Paleoproterozoic (c. 1.8-1.1 Ga) grains. These ages, unknown in the WAC, could have been provided by an active Avalonian (Amazonian-type) arc approaching the northern Gondwana margin during the Rheic Ocean closure. The appearance of these exotic detrital zircon populations was immediately followed by an Eo-Variscan intense deformational phase that has been studied in the DebdouMekkam region. In these inliers, a thick Famennian-Tournaisian succession is strongly deformed by folds that are tight to isoclinal, overturned to recumbent, have SE regional vergence, and are associated with axial-planar cleavage. The reconstructed folded structure implies an important NW-SE shortening, which is interpreted as the result of a frontal SE-directed push of the Avalonian promontory. Accordingly, the Rheic suture would be concealed in between this Avalonian promontory and the Gondwanan margin. Lateral correlatives of the suture are likely found (i) to the north at the boundary between the Ossa-Morena and South Portuguese Zones, and (ii) to the west in the late Variscan thrust which superposed the Caledonian Sehoul Block onto the Western Moroccan Meseta. The post-Eo-Variscan succession also shows a WAC affinity, with variable record of NE African and Avalonian sources and local Variscan granitoids sources. El Océano Rheico se formó por la separación de terrenos Avalonianos (de tipo Amazónico) del borde noroeste del continente Gondwana. Tales terrenos colisionaron con Laurentia y Báltica durante el Paleozoico medio dando lugar a la orogenia Acadiense/Caledoniana y a la formación del continente Laurrusia. Durante el Paleozoico superior, el cierre del Océano Rheico y posterior colisión entre Laurrusia, Gondwana y una serie de fragmentos peri-Gondwánicos formó el orógeno Varisco/Apalachiano. En la parte europea de la cadena Varisca, la sutura Rheica discurre probablemente desde Polonia hasta el sudoeste de Iberia, separando terrenos Avalonianos al oeste y terrenos Gondwánicos al este, si bien no se conocen ofiolitas verdaderamente Rheicas. Más al sur, la sutura Rheica podría localizarse de nuevo en los Mauritánides. Entre ambas regiones, se sitúan los macizos Variscos del norte de Marruecos (incluyendo la Meseta Marroquí), que se interpretan como parte del margen septentrional de Gondwana involucrado en la orogenia Varisca, y donde se desconoce, si es que existe, la posición de la sutura Rheica. La presente Tesis Doctoral investiga el Paleozoico de la Meseta Marroquí, prestando especial atención a: (i) la procedencia de sedimentos mediante el análisis sistemático de los isotopos de U-Pb y Hf de poblaciones de circones detríticos, y (ii) la evolución Varisca mediante el estudio estructural detallado de algunos sectores clave. Los resultados obtenidos constituyen un avance importante en el conocimiento de: (i) la paleogeografía Paleozoica pre- y sin-orogénica, (ii) la tectónica Eo-Varisca, y (iii) la posible situación de la sutura Rheica. Los circones detríticos de la sucesión pre-orogénica (Cámbrico-Devónico) se agrupan en dos poblaciones principales con edades de c. 700-550 Ma (orogenia Cadomiense/PanAfricana) y c. 2.1 Ga (orogenia Eburniense), y no existen apenas circones Mesoproterozoicos o tardi-Paleoproterozoicos (c. 1.8-1.1 Ga). Tal distribución de edades es representativa del Cratón Africano Occidental, el cual sería por tanto la fuente principal de sedimentos en la Meseta Marroquí durante del Paleozoico inferior y medio. Además, algunas muestras tienen una población variable de edad c. 1.0 Ga (Esténico-Tónico inferior), cuya fuente, relativamente lejana y con aportes detríticos intermitentes, puede estar en los cratones del noreste de Africa (Metacratón del Sáhara, Escudo de ArabiaNubia). Por último, circones detríticos de edad Cambro-Ordovícico inferior constituyen poblaciones significativas en algunas muestras de esa misma edad, y se relacionan con la existencia de actividad volcánica local durante un episodio de rifting continental. En conjunto, todos los datos disponibles sugieren que la Meseta Marroquí formó parte de un único margen continental pasivo desarrollado en el norte de Gondwana, habiendo existido continuidad paleogeográfica entre los distintos sub-dominios en los que tradicionalmente se ha subdividido la Meseta Marroquí. La sucesión Fameniense-Tournaisiense de Tiflet (borde septentrional de la Meseta Occidental Marroquí) y Debdou-Mekkam (Meseta Oriental Marroquí) incluye, además de las dos poblaciones dominantes en las sucesión Cambro-Devónica, circones detríticos del Devónico superior (c. 370 Ma, con valores de Hf positivos) y del MesoproterozoicoPaleoproterozoico superior (c. 1.8-1.1 Ma). Tales edades se desconocen en el Cratón Africano Occidental. Estos circones exóticos podrían provenir de la erosión de un arco magmático Devónico desarrollado sobre un basamento Avaloniano, durante su aproximación al margen de Gondwana al final del cierre del Océano Rheico. Tras el cierre del Océano Rheico, tuvo lugar un episodio de intensa deformación EoVarisca, que ha sido estudiada en la región de Debdou-Mekkam. Aquí, la sucesión Fameniense-Tournaisiense, de gran espesor y carácter flyschoide, está deformada por pliegues con foliación de plano-axial, cuya vergencia regional es hacia el sudeste y sus geometrías isoclinales, volcadas y recumbentes. El tren de pliegues reconstruido implica un importante acortamiento de orientación NO-SE, que se interpreta como el resultado del empuje frontal hacia el sudeste de un promontorio Avaloniano. Por tanto, la sutura Rheica se localizaría de manera críptica entre este promontorio avaloniano y el margen de Gondwana. La sutura continuaría hacia el norte a lo largo del límite entre la Zonas de Ossa-Morena y Sud-Portuguesa, y hacia el oeste estaría oculta bajo el cabalgamiento que superpuso el Bloque Caledoniano de Sehoul sobre La Meseta Occidental Marroquí. Los circones detríticos de la sucesión post-Eo-Varisca de la Meseta Marroquí también muestran afinidad con el Cratón Africano Occidental, más un registro variable procedente de fuentes Avalonianas y de granitos Variscos. The STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) approach to education has acquired considerable prominence among teachers in recent years. Putting forward integrated proposals is nonetheless complex and many educators opt to implement the ones set out in textbooks. We consequently deemed it worthwhile to analyse how content common to mathematics and science is addressed in primary school textbooks with a view to determining whether the approaches adopted complement one another and are compatible with STEM education. More specifically, in light of the importance of measurement in both areas of learning and in everyday life, we describe the meaning of mass and volume found, in two publishers’ textbooks. Based on the components of the meaning of measurement and deploying content analysis techniques, we analysed the explanations and tasks set out in these mathematics and science books to identify the similarities and differences in the handling of those magnitudes in the two subjects. Our findings showed the proposals for teaching mass to pursue similar objectives in the earliest grades, addressing matters that could be included in STEM proposals. On the contrary, inconsistencies were detected in the distribution of volume measurement-related content, as well as in the strategies, units and tools used in the two areas. The non-LTR (long terminal repeat) retrotransposon L1Tc from Trypanosoma cruzi codes for a protein with RNase H activity Rodríguez Heras, Sara The deduced amino acid sequence of the region downstream of the reverse transcriptase (RT) motif of the Trypanosoma cruzi L1Tc non-LTR retrotransposon shows a significant homology with the sequence coding for proteins with RNase H activity from different organisms and retroelements. The 25-kDa His6-tagged recombinant protein bearing only the L1Tc RNase H domain, named RHL1Tc, exhibits RNase H activity as measured on the [3H]poly(rA)/poly(dT) hybrid used as substrate as well as on specific homologous and heterologous [32P]RNA/DNA hybrids. The mutation of the conserved aspartic acid at position 39 of the enzyme catalytic site, but not of the serine at position 56 (non-conservative amino acid), abolishes protein RNase H activity. The RNase H activity of the RHL1Tc protein is Mg2 -dependent, and it is also active in the presence of the Mn2  ion. The optimal condition of RNase H activity is found at pH 8 and 37 °C, although it also has significant enzymatic activity at 19 °C and pH 6. However, it cannot be excluded that the RNase H activity level and its optimal conditions may be different from that of a protein containing both RT and RNase H domains. Posjudaísmo en Buenos Aires: Deconstruir comunidad para consumir identidad Peña Jiménez, Lorena Judaísmo contemporáneo Identidad judía posmoderna Proyecto YOK Este artículo analiza la propuesta te´orica del posjudaísmo articulada por el proyecto YOK en respuesta a la crisis del judaísmo institucionalizado en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Contrario a cualquier forma de pensar lo judío en términos tradicionales y normativos, el proyecto posjudío se plante´o como una deconstrucci´on capaz de derribar los muros del judaísmo tradicional y, con el mismo movimiento, dar voz a aquellos judíos que no encuentran acomodo en las infraestructuras institucionales de la comunidad. Nuestra hip´otesis es que su arquitectura conceptual, cuyo objetivo es conseguir la total liberaci´on de las formas identitarias judías, termina legitimando una nueva servidumbre, esta es: la adaptaci´on de lo identitario a la fluidez del mercado. Para demostrarlo, me detendré en reflexionar sobre c´omo el posjudaísmo repiensa, desde el andamiaje de las filosofías posmodernas, la comunidad tradicional con el fin de proponer un judaísmo en las antípodas de este, un judaísmo basado en un trabajo de autocreaci´on incesante que apele a lo plural, a lo abierto y a lo emancipado de toda norma y de todo dogma. Esto me permitirá demostrar c´omo la autocreaci´on es fruto de las dinámicas posmodernas de transformaci´on de la subjetividad cimentadas sobre la emoci´on y la individualidad creadora. This article analyzes the theory of post-Judaism proposed by Darío Sztajnszrajber in response to the crisis of institutionalized Judaism in Buenos Aires (Argentina). Contrary to any traditional and regulatory concept of Jewishness, the post-Judaism project is considered a deconstruction that is able to bring down the walls of traditional Judaism and, at the same time, give voice to those Jews who are not accommodated by the institutional infrastructures of the community. I hypothesize that this conceptual architecture aims to liberate the Jewish identity and legitimize a new form of servitude: adapting identity to market fluidity. To demonstrate this, I reflect on how post-Judaism rethinks the traditional community from the postmodern philosophical framework to propose a Judaism of contradictions, a Judaism based on a constant work of self-creation that appeals to pluralism, openness, and freedom from any regulation or dogma. Tectonic control on the palaeogeographic evolution of thrust-top basins at the active margin of the Guadalquivir Basin (central Betic Cordillera, S Spain) Aguirre Rodríguez, Julio Braga Alarcón, Juan Carlos Martín, José M. Puga Bernabeu, Ángel Foreland basin system Satellite basins Sedimentary-tectonic interplay The Guadalquivir Basin is the foreland basin of the Betic Cordillera (S Spain). Closest to the orogen, several thrust-top basins evolved during the Late Miocene in the central part of the cordillera. Here, we study the Upper Miocene deposits in five of these satellite basins: Montefrío, Iznájar-Cuevas de San Marcos, Antequera, Bobadilla Estación and Teba, in order to (1) update the stratigraphic framework, (2) infer a depositional model, (3) establish the relationship between sedimentary record and tectonic context and (4) reconstruct the palaeogeography of the area during the Late Miocene. Upper Miocene sediments mostly consist of mixed carbonate-terrigenous deposits. Facies characterization allows inferring a sedimentary model corresponding to a ramp with foreshore deposits changing to a shoal belt offshore in the inner ramp. Swaley and hummocky cross-stratified deposits formed in the transition to the middle ramp, and plane parallel carbonate beds in the distal middle-outer ramp. Factory facies, dominated by rhodoliths and bryozoans, also occur in the middle-outer ramp environments. Silts and marls formed in the deepest outer ramp and basin settings respectively. Breccias accumulated at the toe of palaeocliffs and conglomerates and massive coarse sands were deposited in fluvio-deltaic systems. Conglomerates and sands were also reworked as gravity flows and redeposited offshore. Local facies include rudstones-grainstones displaying large-scale trough-cross bedding formed in a strait in Montefrío, and marls with chalky carbonates deposited in a shallow marine, sheltered lagoon with hydromorphic soils in Bobadilla Estación. The study basins evolved in an N-S compressive tectonic context responsible of the emersion of the main Betic reliefs. Concomitantly, E-W and ESE-WNW extension originated the main depocentres. The influence of the tectonic activity on the sedimentary infills is indicated by the presence of synsedimentary deformations and several diachronic unconformities, which are younger westward. Tectonism, in turn, also controlled the palaeogeographic evolution during the late Tortonian-early Messinian interval. Self-organized bistability and its possible relevance for brain dynamics Buendía, Víctor di Santo, Serena Villegas, Pablo Burioni, Raffaella Muñoz García, Miguel Ángel Self-organized bistability (SOB) is the counterpart of “self-organized criticality” (SOC), for systems tuning themselves to the edge of bistability of a discontinuous phase transition, rather than to the critical point of a continuous one. The equations defining the mathematical theory of SOB turn out to bear a strong resemblance to a (Landau-Ginzburg) theory recently proposed to analyze the dynamics of the cerebral cortex. This theory describes the neuronal activity of coupled mesoscopic patches of cortex, homeostatically regulated by short-term synaptic plasticity. The theory for cortex dynamics entails, however, some significant differences with respect to SOB, including the lack of a (bulk) conservation law, the absence of a perfect separation of timescales and, the fact that in the former, but not in the second, there is a parameter that controls the overall system state (in blatant contrast with the very idea of self-organization). Here, we scrutinize—by employing a combination of analytical and computational tools—the analogies and differences between both theories and explore whether in some limit SOB can play an important role to explain the emergence of scale-invariant neuronal avalanches observed empirically in the cortex. We conclude that, actually, in the limit of infinitely slow synaptic dynamics, the two theories become identical but the timescales required for the self-organization mechanism to be effective do not seem to be biologically plausible. We discuss the key differences between self-organization mechanisms with/without conservation and with/without infinitely separated timescales. In particular, we introduce the concept of “self-organized collective oscillations” and scrutinize the implications of our findings in neuroscience, shedding new light into the problems of scale invariance and oscillations in cortical dynamics. First, we aim to provide evidence on the relationship between genetic predisposition to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and later-life health outcomes. Additionally, we investigate cross-spousal spillovers on both physical and mental health associated with genetic risk for this condition. Leveraging rich data for individuals aged 50+ and their partners in England our findings indicate poorer general wellbeing, physical and mental health among older individuals with a higher genetic risk of experiencing ADHD. Moreover, these associations are substantially larger for older women and individuals who are unmarried, relatively less educated and less wealthy. Our results also show that male partner’s genetic risk for ADHD negatively affects the health of their female partners, whereas female genetic risk predisposition does not appear to affect the health of their male partners. Moreover, these adverse effects on women are stronger among those who are relatively less educated and live in relatively poorer households. La literatura científica indica queel profesorado no posee las habilidades necesarias para afrontar con éxito las conductas disruptivas y disuadirlas, ya que, en muchos casostienen necesidades formativas desde la formación pedagógica inicial, desconectada de la realidad educativa y demasiado teórica. Estas conductas negativas distorsionan el desarrollo normal de una clase, y perturban la dinámica del aula, además de ser causade estrés en los docentes. El objetivo de esta investigación es conocer cuáles son las conductas disruptivas percibidas por los docentes de secundaria más frecuentes en las aulas en función del género, la formación inicial y los años de experiencia. La metodología utilizada ha sido empírico-analítica con un diseño ex-post-facto prospectivo de grupo único. Los resultados indican que el género, la formación pedagógica y los años de experiencia de los docentesinfluye en la percepción de estas conductas disruptivas. The disruptive behavior of secondary school students is a limitation of the work performance of teachers in the same stage and one of the biggest problems faced by secondary school teachers. The scientific literature indicates that teachers do not have the necessary skills to successfully deal with disruptive behaviors and discourage them, since they have training needs from initial pedagogical training, disconnected from educational reality and too theoretical. These negative behaviors distort the normal development of a class, and disturb the dynamics of the classroom, in addition to being a cause of stress for teachers.The objective of this research is to find out which are the most frequent disruptive behaviors perceived by secondary school teachers in the classroom according to gender, initial training and years of experience. Search for invisible Higgs boson decays in vector boson fusion at s√=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector Aaboud, M. Aguilar Saavedra, Juan Antonio Atlas Collaboration We report a search for Higgs bosons that are produced via vector boson fusion and subsequently decay into invisible particles. The experimental signature is an energetic jet pair with invariant mass of O(1) TeV and O(100) GeV missing transverse momentum. The analysis uses 36.1 fb−1 of pp collision data at s√=13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. In the signal region the 2252 observed events are consistent with the background estimation. Assuming a 125 GeV particle with Standard Model cross sections, the upper limit on the branching fraction of the Higgs boson decay into invisible particles is 0.37 at 95% CL where 0.28 was expected. This limit is interpreted in Higgs portal models to set limits on the WIMP-nucleon scattering cross section. We also consider invisible decays of additional scalar bosons with masses up to 3 TeV for which the upper limits on the cross section times branching fraction are in the range of 0.3−1.7 pb. Para hacer frente a estas problemáticas, desde finales de los años 90 la tecnología y la estadística han sido piezas clave en el campo de la investigación en el ámbito de la seguridad, ayudando a potenciar los límites del analista en el procesamiento de la información y mejorando exponencialmente su capacidad de análisis. Así, se está desarrollando la tendencia de utilizar la tecnología en un marco preventivo para calcular la probabilidad de que ocurra, o no, un evento que pueda afectar al contexto de seguridad. Para ello, el análisis predictivo se torna como una herramienta necesaria. Hoy en día, Europa destaca tanto por el número como por la tipología de programas predictivos implementados en los diferentes contextos nacionales. El principal objetivo de este artículo es analizar el estado actual de este tipo de herramientas tecnológicas en el continente europeo por medio de una comparación de seis (6) diferentes casos de estudio en un total de cinco (5) países incluidos (Alemania, Francia, Italia, Países Bajos y Reino Unido) para, en primer lugar, analizar sus implicaciones en la mejora de la seguridad en el espacio de la Unión Europea y, en segundo lugar, detectar aquellos casos innovadores en este marco. In order to face these problems, since the end of the 90s, technology and statistics have been used in the field of security to tackle the analytical limitations of human beings, improving their performances. As a result, professionals in the crime prevention areas started using technology in investigation to calculate the probability that a (criminal) event might occur in the future. Such a phenomenon is also called predictive analysis. Today, Europe stands out both for the number and the type of predictive programs implemented in different national contexts. What do clean and dirty hands of primary school pupils look like? Castellar Cárdenas, Marta Romero López, María del Carmen Jiménez Tejada, María Del Pilar Hand hygiene primary education drawing health microorganisms The current pandemic has highlighted the importance of hand hygiene as a preventive measure to avoid the transmission of diseases. It is a habit that should be reinforced during childhood, so that it lasts into adulthood. The main objective was to analyse and describe, through drawing, the mental schemas that 6-12 year-old pupils have about clean and dirty hands and their relationship with microorganisms. A descriptive and qualitative study was carried out with 260 participants in which their drawings were analysed according to thecategories: colouring, shape and/or presence of wounds, viruses or living beings, localisation and presence of accessories. The results show that dirty hands are represented coloured in sections combining various shapes and, in some cases, living beings or viruses can be found. Among 11–12 year-old students there are very few cases where dirt is represented as dots or reference is made to microscopic size, with neutral and warm colours being the most used. Clean hands are represented by the silhouette of the hand in a single colour. Sometimes accessories are added to reinforce the idea of cleanliness and it is not conceivable that a clean hand could harbour microorganisms or dirt. Search for a new heavy gauge-boson resonance decaying into a lepton and missing transverse momentum in 36 fb−1 of pp collisions at √ s = 13 TeV with the ATLAS experiment Aaboud, M. Aguilar Saavedra, Juan Antonio Atlas Collaboration The results of a search for new heavy W′ bosons decaying to an electron or muon and a neutrino using proton–proton collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of s√ = 13 TeV are presented. The dataset was collected in 2015 and 2016 by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb −1. As no excess of events above the Standard Model prediction is observed, the results are used to set upper limits on the W′ boson cross-section times branching ratio to an electron or muon and a neutrino as a function of the W′ mass. Assuming a W′ boson with the same couplings as the Standard Model W boson, W′ masses below 5.1 TeV are excluded at the 95% confidence level. Health system performance Responsivenes Waiting times Synthetic control method Freedom of choice Public policies fostering the freedom of choice of provider in the healthcare sector are increasingly common in many countries and regions, where policymakers wish to empower patients and improve health service performance. However, in the literature there is not clear consensus about the impact of expanded patient choice on healthcare quality yet. This study investigates whether increasing patients' freedom of choice influences health system outcomes in terms of various non-clinical aspects of care, a dimension often overlooked by researchers in this field. Our study considers a “natural experiment” that took place within the Spanish National Health System in 2009 under which citizens of the Community (region) of Madrid were allowed to freely choose among any GP and/or specialist in their region. The empirical analysis was conducted by using Spanish microdata for the period 2002–2016 and used synthetic control estimation techniques. The key findings show the reform had a strong and long-lasting impact, reducing average waiting times and increasing patients' satisfaction with the specialist attention received. We did not detect any statistically significant impact of the reform on the other responsiveness domains analysed. Se realizaron cuatro grupos focales en diferentes contextos socioeconómicos con un total de 39 adultos mayores residentes en España. El análisis metodológico es inductivo, emergente, delimitando los discursos de los participantes del estudio de lo específico a lo general, a través del proceso de codificación de la teoría fundamentada. Se presentaron las diferencias entre contextos en cuatro subtemas de la cultura patriarcal y su influencia según el nivel educativo, tiempo tras la jubilación, responsabilidades familiares y apoyo marital. La poesía oral improvisada, un fenómeno multifuncional Improvised oral poetry, a Multifunctional phenomenon Bienes, Yapci Checa Olmos, Francisco Poesía oral improvisada Performance Funcionalidad Multifuncionalidad Improvised oral poetry Functionality Mutifunctionality En este artículo identificamos, datamos y argumentamos trece dimensiones funcionales cubiertas por la poesía oral improvisada, a saber: relacional, expresivo-comunicativa, identitaria, ritual y litúrgica, didáctica, lúdico/recreativa, medio de vida, canto de trabajo, transformadora, transmisión histórica, terapéutica/paliativa, estética y de autorrealización. Dentro de algunas de ellas, dada su magnitud, detallamos funciones específicas y anotamos posibles subfunciones. Los resultados respaldan la multifuncionalidad de la poesía oral improvisada, atendida como fenómeno global. Además, acreditamos la inherencia de la función relacional y de la expresivo-comunicativa respecto al fenómeno, y en virtud de la permanencia y simultaneidad de dichas funciones, constatamos la multifuncionalidad como rasgo de las manifestaciones poético-improvisadoras particulares. Finalmente, recogemos otras opciones manifiestas de confluencia funcional, que apuntan a una multifuncionalidad densa. In this article we identify, date and argue thirteen functional dimensions covered by improvised oral poetry, namely: relational, expressive-communicative, identity, ritual and liturgical, didactic, ludic/recreational, livelihood, work song, transformative, historical transmission, therapeutic/palliative, aesthetic and of self-realization. Within some of these, given their magnitude, we detail specific functions and note possible sub-functions. The results support the multifunctionality of improvised oral poetry, considered as a global phenomenon. In addition, we prove the inherence of the relational and expressive-communicative functions respect to the phenomenon, and by virtue of the permanence and simultaneity of these functions, we confirm the multifunctionality as a feature of the particular poetic-improvisational manifestations. Del censo al "producto censal" From census to the "census product" Cohen Amselem, Aron Censo Concepto Vuelco Implicaciones Preguntas Census Concept Overturning Implications Questions Los cambios introducidos en el censo español en 2011 y su profundización de cara al de 2021 apelan a un debate atento a todas las implicaciones (“metodológicas, epistemológicas y políticas”) de una transformación de gran calado. Ese debate está en gran medida pendiente y, dados los plazos y lo avanzado de los trabajos emprendidos por el INE, le quedará recorrido por delante cuando dispongamos de resultados del nuevo “producto”. Una de las cuestiones que se suscitan es si la “operación” a la que nos abocamos augura una información con niveles de detalle y calidad comparables a las de los ahora calificados como “censos tradicionales”. Otra es si las promesas de mejor aprovechamiento de registros y recursos tecnológicos con fines de estadística pública convierten irremediablemente en superflua una producción pública, de renovación lenta, pero con vocación de exhaustividad, homogeneidad, simultaneidad y continuidad: la que hemos conocido como censo de la población. In fact, this debate is largely pending. Moreover, given the progress of INE’s work, debate will have a long path to go once the results will be published. La aportación de la antropología a la formación integral estudiantil: descompartimentalizando la actividad sustantiva universitaria en el Tecnológico de Costa Rica The contribution of anthropology to the integral student formation: decompartmentalizing substantive university activity at the Technological Institute of Costa Rica Mora Cruz, Désirée BT (Educación Universitaria) RT (Competencias Sociales) SN (Método Pedagógico) BT (Higher education) RT (Social Skills) SN (teaching method) Introducción: Los cursos de Acción Social y VolunTEC del Tecnológico de Costa Rica, han logrado descompartimentalizar la actividad sustantiva universitaria en pro de una formación integral estudiantil. La Antropología Social, ha jugado un papel trascendental fomentando procesos de enseñanza aprendizaje, formación en valores y habilidades para la vida, relaciones comunitarias significativas y cumplimiento de ODS´s 2030. Así mismo, ha implementado un espacio pedagógico ampliado mediante la metodología de la integralidad y el ecosistema pedagógico universitario. Método: En los cursos se emplea la metodología de aula invertida y aprendizaje basado en proyectos sociales. De manera libre, las personas discentes pueden continuar en VolunTEC, a través del desarrollo de experiencias y conocimientos situados, por medio de MAPSS y acercamientos etnográficos bajo el enfoque del compromiso social universitario y la investigación-acción. Resultados: 98 cursos de Acción Social en 18 años, con más de 2 400 estudiantes. Del 2010 al 2023 han participado 1 147 estudiantes, más de 50 comunidades, en procesos de co-gestión de proyectos, conocimientos y soluciones para la mejora de la calidad de vida. Desarrollo de 30 000 horas de trabajo voluntario. El 98.3% del estudiantado en VolunTEC finaliza sus estudios y logra graduarse del TEC. Se han desarrollado 13 investigaciones. Conclusiones: La descompartimentalización de la actividad sustantiva universitaria es posible y resulta exitosa para motivar y promover la formación integral y las relaciones co constructivas, dialógica-inclusivas entre docentes, discentes y comunidades, amplía los alcances universitarios e impacto real en la ejecución de los ODS 2030, dotando de pertinencia social al propio quehacer universitario. ntroduction: The Social Action and VolunTEC courses at the Technological Institute of Costa Rica have managed to decompartmentalize substantive university activity in favor of comprehensive student training. Social Anthropology has played a transcendental role in promoting teaching-learning processes, training in values and life skills, meaningful community relationships and compliance with SDGs 2030. Likewise, it has implemented an expanded pedagogical space through the methodology of integrality. and the university pedagogical ecosystem. Method: The courses use the flipped classroom methodology and learning based on social projects. Freely, students can continue in VolunTEC, through the development of situated experiences and knowledge, through SSLM, ethnographic approaches under the focus of university social commitment and action research. López Montoya, Antonio Jesús Bacillus thuringiensis Essential plant oils Nanoparticles Sarcoptes scabiei Survival In this study we analysed the effect of the temperature, diverse strains of Bacillus thuringiensis, Lysinibacillus sphaericus and nanoformulations with essential plant oils (EONP) on the survival of Sarcoptes scabiei mites derived from naturally-infested Iberian ibex (Capra pyrenaica). In general, mites maintained at 12ºC survived more than those maintained at 35ºC (40.7 hr and 31.2 hr, respectively). Mites with no treatment survived 27.6 h on average. Mites treated with B. thuringiensis serovar. konkukian and geranium EONP showed significant reduction in their survival. Despite the fact that these agents seem to be promising candidates for controlling sarcoptic mange in the field, further research is still needed to get stable, efficient and eco-friendly acaricides. As the size of their identification databases grows, there is a need of flexible, reliable structures for fingerprint recognition systems. In this paper, we propose a generic decomposition methodology for minutiae-based matching algorithms that splits the calculation of the matching scores into lower level steps that can be carried out in parallel in a flexible manner. The decomposition allows to adapt any minutiae-based algorithm to frameworks such as MapReduce or Apache Spark. General and specific guidelines to enhance the performance of the adapted matching algorithms are also described. The proposal is evaluated over two matching algorithms, two Big Data frameworks (Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark) and two large-scale fingerprint databases, with promising results concerning the identification time, in addition to the reliability, scalability, distribution and availability capabilities that are provided by such underlying frameworks. The microorganisms with the highest levels of lipase activity were selected in order to use triglycerides present in the sludge effectively and were then transformed with pdc:adhB genes for the production of ethanol. The transgenic strains showed high growth rates in diluted sludge and produced lipase protein in order to utilize fat present in the sludge, which provides an abundant source of carbon. Using sludge derived from treated wastewater as nutrient source, ethanol was produced by certain transgenic species belonging to the genera Proteus. Different forms of sludge were tested for maximal ethanol production, with dehydrated sludge being found to produce the best performance. Deciphering the metamorphic evolution of the Pulo do Lobo metasedimentary domain (SW Iberian Variscides) Pérez Cáceres, Irene Martínez Poyatos, David Jesús Vidal, Olivier Beyssac, Olivier Nieto García, Fernando Simancas Cabrera, José Fernando Azor Pérez, Antonio Bourdelle, Franck The Pulo do Lobo domain is one of the units exposed within the orogenic suture zone between the Ossa- Morena and the South Portuguese zones in the SW Iberian Variscides. This metasedimentary unit has been classically interpreted as a Rheic subduction-related accretionary prism formed during pre-Carboniferous convergence and eventual collision between the South Portuguese Zone (part of Avalonia) and the Ossa-Morena Zone (peri-Gondwanan terrane). Discrete mafic intrusions also occur within the dominant Pulo do Lobo metapelites, related to an intra-orogenic Mississippian transtensional and magmatic event that had a significant thermal input. Three different approaches have been applied to the Devonian–Carboniferous phyllites and slates of the Pulo do Lobo domain in order to study their poorly known low-grade metamorphic evolution. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to identify the mineralogy and measure crystallographic parameters (illite “crystallinity” and Kwhite mica b-cell dimension). Compositional maps of selected samples were obtained from electron probe microanalysis, which allowed for processing with XMapTools software, and chlorite semiempirical and thermodynamic geothermometry was performed. Thermometry based on Raman spectroscopy of carbonaceous material (RSCM) was used to obtain peak temperatures. Combination of searches for heavy spin-1 resonances using 139 fb−1 of proton-proton collision data at √ s = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector Aad, G. Pérez-Victoria Moreno De Barreda, Manuel María Atlas Collaboration, / Beyond Standard Model Exotics Hadron-Hadron Scattering A combination of searches for new heavy spin-1 resonances decaying into different pairings of W, Z, or Higgs bosons, as well as directly into leptons or quarks, is presented. The data sample used corresponds to 139 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at √ s = 13TeV collected during 2015–2018 with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Analyses selecting quark pairs (qq, bb, t¯t, and tb) or third-generation leptons (τν and τ τ ) are included in this kind of combination for the first time. A simplified model predicting a spin-1 heavy vector-boson triplet is used. Cross-section limits are set at the 95% confidence level and are compared with predictions for the benchmark model. These limits are also expressed in terms of constraints on couplings of the heavy vector-boson triplet to quarks, leptons, and the Higgs boson. The complementarity of the various analyses increases the sensitivity to new physics, and the resulting constraints are stronger than those from any individual analysis considered. The data exclude a heavy vector-boson triplet with mass below 5.8TeV in a weakly coupled scenario, below 4.4TeV in a strongly coupled scenario, and up to 1.5TeV in the case of production via vector-boson fusion. Las categorías que más afloraron en el análisis del discurso fueron informar, demandar información, sugerir, parafrasear y confirmar. Los indicadores que más manifestaron fueron validación, ampliación y paráfrasis. Los estudiantes manifestaron características del talento matemático como un alto compromiso con la tarea, a pesar de su dificultad, y buena capacidad para organizar los datos y para desarrollar estrategias eficientes de resolución We analyze the transmission of information between two mathematically talented students while solving, via videoconference, a cooperative task of visualization. The categories that emerged in our analysis of the discourse were inform, demand information, suggest, paraphrasing, and confirm. Durante las últimas seis décadas, los cambios en la economía global, unidos a una actitud permisiva por parte de las administraciones con el crecimiento urbano sobre el entorno rural, han modificado profundamente este territorio. Los espacios de contacto, aquellos que materializan la transición rural-urbana, se presentan como posibilidades para revitalizar este paisaje en el siglo XXI. El presente artículo propone realizar un breve recorrido por los principales cultivos utilizados, sus producciones arquitectónicas e infraestructuras, que durante siglos caracterizaron el paisaje cultural de la Vega de Granada, para posteriormente analizar la situación actual de este territorio y presentar diversas iniciativas que están aprovechando la indefinición de los espacios de transición para recuperar usos propios de la Vega y revalorizarlos. Se refleja así cómo estos espacios en tránsito, activados por iniciativas ciudadanas, son los lugares con mayores posibilidades para la recuperación de un paisaje cultural que actualmente se presenta sin un futuro claro.---------------------------- The Vega de Granada (Spain) is a historical landscape of enormous value, from both productive and cultural points of view. This article proposes to summarize the main crops grown here, as well as their architectural productions and infrastructures, that have shaped for centuries the cultural landscape of the Vega de Granada, starting from there, we will analyze the current situation of this territory, as well as some initiatives that are taking advantage of the lack of definition of those limit spaces, to try to recuperate local activities and valorize them. Su importancia como patrimonio es indudable, pero aunque la seda ha tejido Europa y se sigue utilizando en numerosos contextos, la tejeduría tradicional está en riesgo por la pérdida gradual de artesanos que salvaguarden el conocimiento ancestral. Además, la seda sigue siendo relevante para las personas que experimentan conexiones vivas, personales y sociales con este patrimonio, el cual está vinculado a tantas historias de vida y relatos colectivos que ha generado numerosos vocablos propios. El modo en que se han catalogado los bienes asociados a la seda es muy heterogénea debido a la falta de normalización de los catálogos de los museos que los custodian. Es por ello que el vocabulario del patrimonio de la seda procede de múltiples fuentes que se han mezclado a través del tiempo y el espacio, dando como resultado que la interoperabilidad de estos datos sea extremadamente complicada. Para abordar estos retos, el proyecto SILKNOW asumió el reto de crear un tesauro multilingüe que es la base de otras herramientas del proyecto, normaliza el vocabulario del tejido sedero y rescata el patrimonio inmaterial asociado a este. Este artículo presenta los fundamentos de la realización de este tesauro y su relación con la salvaguarda del patrimonio material y sobre todo, inmaterial. The European silk heritage is an integral heritage that encompasses both tangible properties (looms, fabrics, threads, etc.) and an important linguistic intangible heritage. Its importance as a heritage is undoubted, but although silk has woven Europe and is still used in numerous contexts, traditional weaving is at risk due to the gradual loss of the artisans that safeguard the ancestral knowledge associated to it. Moreover, silk remains relevant to people who experience living, personal and social connections with this heritage, which is linked to so many life stories and collective narratives that it has generated a specific vocabulary. The way in which silk-related properties have been catalogued is very heterogeneous due to the lack of standardisation of the catalogues of the museums that hold them. As a result, the vocabulary of silk heritage comes from multiple sources that have been mixed over time and space, resulting in the interoperability of this data and catalogues being extremely complicated. To address these challenges, the SILKNOW project took on the challenge of creating a multilingual thesaurus that is the basis for other project tools, standardises the vocabulary of silk weaving, and rescues the intangible heritage associated with it. Diariamente surgen en el mercado nuevas alternativas farmacológicas que son capaces de conseguir un efecto terapéutico más potente y duradero, reduciendo a su vez los efectos adversos de sus predecesores. Propranolol, es un fármaco ampliamente conocido y empleado para el tratamiento de diversas patologías. La aparición de nuevas opciones en la prevención y tratamiento de eventos cardiovasculares ha disminuido su prescripción en los últimos años y ha favorecido su sustitución en pacientes estables. Como sabemos, es importante hacer una valoración individualizada e integral del paciente ante cualquier modificación de tratamiento. Presentamos el caso clínico de una paciente con múltiples patologías potencialmente graves en la que la suspensión del tratamiento con propranolol fue el desencadenante de la descompensación de su patología de base. In patients with different clinical problems, the challenge for the physician is to minimize number of drugs to achieve adequate therapeutic compliance. New pharmacological alternatives are emerging in the market that are capable of achieving a more potent and lasting therapeutic effect, while reducing the adverse effects of its predecessors. Propranolol, is a drug widely known and used for the treatment of various pathologies. The emergence of new options in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular events has decreased its prescription in the last years and has favored its substitution in stable patients. As we know, it is important to make an individualized and comprehensive assessment of the patient before any treatment modification. Determinants of the acceptance of domestic use of recycled water by use type Moya Fernández, Pablo José López Ruiz, Samara Guardiola Wanden-Berghe, Jorge González Gómez, Francisco José Circular economy Water reuse Recycled water Spain In the circular economy model, the recycling of water is an alternative option that can reduce the pressure on water resources and guarantee water supply. This water policy measure is currently widespread in agriculture, but thus far few countries have opted for the domestic use of recycled water. In part, this is because it is the source of water with the lowest levels of public acceptance, which poses a threat to the success of the necessary investment. We analyse the degree of acceptance of recycled water for different domestic uses. The main contribution of this study is the analysis of the determinants of acceptance of recycled water by use type. The research was based on data from a questionnaire given to 844 university students in Andalusia, southern Spain. Results are obtained from ordinary least squares regressions that relate the determinants of recycled water acceptance to each of the water use classes. The 'yuck factor'—variously defined as ‘disgust’ or ‘psychological repugnance’—and the perceived risk are found to be the main determinants of the low degree of acceptance of recycled water for ingestion by people and pets. For other uses, such as body washing, laundry and cleaning, environ- mental awareness stands out as a determining factor.
