Los alfareros de Tritium Magallum

Abstract

L’objectif de cet article est d’étudier l’onomastique de plus de trois cents producteurs de terra sigillata hispanique de Tritium Magallum. Il en ressort des problèmes d’interprétation des timbres : lecture, segmentation et développement des abréviations. Il y a quatre types principaux dans les textes: cognomen, nomen, praenomen et nomen et nomen et cognomen, et suivi ou non de la formule ex officina. L’onomastique latine prédomine, mais on y trouve également un petit groupe de noms indigènes.

he main purpose of this paper is the study of the onomastic of the more than three hundred potters of Hispanic terra sigillata from Tritium Magallum. There are interpretation problems: reading, segmentation and development of abreviations stamps. The result is four principal types of formulae: cognomen, nomen, praenomen and nomen and nomen and cognomen, whit or without the terms ex officina. Predominate the Latin names, but also there is a small group of vernacular anthroponyms.
