The aim of this paper is to revisit TANNIBER, an inscription sealed on lead ingots that were discovered from the “Cabrera 5” wreck. The editors have proposed two possibilities of interpretation: it was an Iberian personal name or (as preferred by most of them) as an abreviated Roman onomastic formula. However, and due to new knowledge on Iberian personal names and about Hispanic economy during the first century BCE and Augustus’ reign, it is now possible to check the interpretation.es_ES
