Application of the statistical design of experiments and the Bath–Substrate–Flow method in formulating detergents for hard surfaces

Abstract

The present work studies the effect that both process and formulation variables exert over the detersive process on hard surfaces. The statistical design of experiments together with the Bath–Substrate–Flow method for evaluating detergency enabled us to develop detergent formulas for hard surfaces. The effectiveness of the detergent depends on the total concentration of the components in the washing bath and on the calcic hardness tested, which determines the optimal proportion of the components of the detergent.
