Abstract

Desde el siglo VIII, las vinculaciones entre el norte de África y la Península Ibérica, han pasado por distintas fases en las que se han constatado la diversa influencia de una sobre otra. Desde siempre se ha discutido sobre la direccionalidad de las relaciones entre estas dos vertientes del Mediterráneo, en un intento por justificar la presencia de determinadas características en un u otro lado, ya sean culturales, económicas, políticas, etc. La tendencia que siempre ha existido hacia la comparación entre asentamientos de los dos lados, e incluso el reconocido y aceptado origen de muchos de ellos, hizo que algunas cuestiones se dieran por cerradas, ante la aparente evidencia de tales vestigios.

Since the 8th century, the links between North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula have gone through different phases in which the diverse influence of one on the other has been confirmed. There has always been discussion about the directionality of the relations between these two sides of the Mediterranean, in an attempt to justify the presence of certain characteristics on one side or the other, whether cultural, economic, political, etc. The tendency that has always existed towards comparison between settlements on both sides, and even the recognized and accepted origin of many of them, caused some issues to be considered closed, given the apparent evidence of such vestiges.
