Abstract

El establecimiento de los itinerarios marinos que conectarían los territorios americanos con Europa. debe insertarse dentro de la dinámica de expansión que desde el viejo continente se inició en el siglo XV con Portugal y Castilla a la cabeza. Con ella, la protección de los mismos se convertiría en una obligación por parte de las potencias impulsoras, lo que elevó esta acción a una dimensión que integró elementos dinámicos y estables con el objetivo de asegurar los canales de tránsito, primer marítimos y luego terrestres. Este texto analiza el proceso de control del territorio en el contexto americano y en la región asiática controlada por España hasta el siglo XIX.

The establishment of marine routes that would connect the American territories with Europe. It must be inserted within the dynamic of expansion that began in the old continent in the 15th century with Portugal and Castile at the helm. With it, their protection would become an obligation on the part of the driving powers, which elevated this action to a dimension that integrated dynamic and stable elements with the objective of securing transit channels, first maritime and then land. This text analyzes the process of territorial control in the American context and in the Asian region controlled by Spain until the 19th century.
