New Functions of Mining Heritage in Mexico

Abstract

Uno de los grandes capítulos del patrimonio cultural mexicano es el del patrimonio industrial. Un patrimonio en el que destaca el minero. Actualmente no del todo apreciado por su carácter negativo, requiere de una revisión para su valoración. Este capítulo pone el punto de atención en algunos de los ejemplos más destacados existentes en el país americano, recorriendo desde el período prehispánico hasta la actualidad algunos de sus ejemplos más destacados.

One of the great chapters of Mexican cultural heritage is that of industrial heritage. A heritage in which the miner stands out. Currently not fully appreciated due to its negative nature, it requires a review for its assessment. This chapter focuses on some of the most outstanding examples existing in the American country, covering some of its most outstanding examples from the pre-Hispanic period to the present day.
