Situaciones-problemas sobre variable aleatoria y sus aplicaciones en distribuciones de probabilidad según libros de texto chilenos

Abstract

Este articulo analiza los objetos matemáticos (situaciones-problemas) ligados a la variable aleatoria y sus aplicaciones sobre las distribuciones de probabilidad en cinco libros de texto chilenos de Educación Secundaria, fundamentado en herramientas del Enfoque Ontosemiótico del Conocimiento y la Instrucción Matemáticos. Aquel objeto matemático es analizado con base a una guía de situaciones-problemas de los tópicos en cuestión diseñada a partir del currículo chileno oficial. Los resultados muestran ausencia y mínima presencia de actividades sobre calcular probabilidades asociadas a distribuciones binomial y normal empleando una herramienta tecnológica, y diferenciar entre variables deterministas y aleatorias, respectivamente. Aquello demuestra falta de alineación entre la propuesta del Ministerio de Educación chileno y los textos que este organismo distribuye gratuitamente. Esta investigación proporciona información valiosa a los profesores que enseñan la variable aleatoria y/o distribuciones binomial y normal en la escuela, investigadores interesados en desarrollar estudios sobre su comprensión y quienes diseñan libros de texto escolares para mejorar la presentación de estos temas.

This article analyzes the problems-situations related to the random variable and their applications about probability distributions in five Chilean textbooks of high school, based on the Onto-Semiotic Approach to Mathematical. That mathematical object is analyzed based on a guide of problems- situations of the topics in question designed from the official Chilean curriculum. The results show that in the textbooks analyzed are absence and minimum presence of activities about calculate probabilities associated with binomial distributions and normal distributions using a technology tool, and differentiate between random variables and variables with functional dependency, respectively. Those results demonstrate lack of alignment between the proposal of the Chilean Ministry of Education and textbooks analyzed. This research provides valuable information for the professor that teaches the random variable and/or binomial and normal distributions at the school, the researcher who is interested in developing studies about its understanding and whom designs school textbooks to improve the presentation of this theme.
