O sentimento emancipado – Política de Milestones (Robert Kramer e John Douglas, 1975)

Abstract

O presente ensaio é uma leitura do filme Milestones, de Kramer e Douglas. Nele prestamos particular atenção à coexistência de uma dupla temporalidade, a do tempo do agora revolucionário e do tempo do depois. A política do filme diz respeito à busca do significado virtual de uma revolução que coincidiria com a vida inteira: é a revolução no tempo do depois. Essa busca política só é possível a partir de uma ruptura estética, do sentimento emancipado, da libertação do pathos.

This paper consists of an analysis of the film Milestones, from Kramer and Douglas. In this purpose, we aim to show the coexistence of a double temporality: the time of the revolutionary present and the time after. The politics of this film referes to the search of the virtual meaning of a revolution which coincides with the entire life: it’s the revolution under the conditions of the time after. This political search is only possible on the basis of an aesthetical rupture: the emancipated feeling, the liberation of pathos.
