This chapter presents a reflection on divorce in rabbinic literature, especially among its normative texts. It analyses the development of divorce law during classical Judaism in comparison with the biblical tradition from which it derives. In addition, the role of the persons involved in the process is reviewed. The capacity granted to women during this procedure, both as actors and as mere receptors of the process, is also analysed.es_ES
