Abstract
Zelda Fitzgerald ha sido, sin ningún género de dudas, una de las mujeres más intrigantes e idiosincráticas del siglo veinte. Bailarina, escritora, mujer moderna y esposa devota, Zelda fue el producto de una época y un lugar determinado. Le demostró a todo el mundo cómo el abuso de alcohol y medicamentos frustró no solo su matrimonio con el archifamoso novelista Scott Fitzgerald sino también su faceta creativa y artística.
Destinada a ser una celebridad en la época del jazz, Zelda simbolizaba a la nueva mujer de la época moderna en la que intentaba encontrar su propia identidad artística bajo la presión de mantenerse dentro de un papel femenino doméstico. Ser la mujer de Scott le ofrecía, por un lado, oportunidades artísticas que de otra forma quizás no se la habrían presentado, pero, por el otro, hizo difícil que el público valorara su propio talento artístico.
Por lo tanto, el objetivo principal de esta comunicación será no solo el de relatar la faceta de artista total de Zelda sino, principalmente, el de reflejar la presencia de elementos autobiográficos en su producción literaria. Elementos que denotarán sus tormentosas circunstancias personales y si difícil convivencia con Scott Fitzgerald, como demostrará el análisis de sus obras más significativas.
