Tabú e imagen social: estrategias comunicativas usadas por los ecuatorianos residentes en Granada para hablar del ámbito laboral

Abstract

La llegada de inmigrantes a España ha creado, desde las últimas décadas del siglo XX, un país plural e intercultural. Desde un punto de vista laboral, en cambio, muchos de los nuevos residentes no han tenido las mismas oportunidades que los españoles y han tenido experiencias no siempre facilitadoras en este ámbito. Por esta razón, hablar del trabajo y las condiciones laborales se ha con-vertido para estos colectivos en un tema tabú creado a partir del miedo, el pudor y la vergüenza ante su situación. En este trabajo se realiza una investigación sobre el comportamiento lingüístico que tienen los inmigrantes ecuatorianos de Granada cuando se refieren a cuestiones relacionadas con la integración con los habitantes del país receptor, el tipo de actividad profesional que realizan, y sus condiciones laborales.

Taboo and social image: communicative strategies used by Ecuadorians in Granada to talk about their work. The arrival of immigrants to Spain has created, since the last decades of the 20th century, a plural and intercultural country. However, from a labor perspective, many of the new residents have not had the same opportunities as Spaniards and they have not had facilitating experiences. For this reason, issues such as employment or working conditions have become for these groups a taboo subject created from fear and shame for their situation. In this paper, we present an investigation about the linguistic behavior that the Ecuadorian immigrants of Granada have when they answer to questions about integration with the inhabitants of the receiving country, the type of professional activity they perform, and their working conditions.
