Argumente für die Spezifität der pragmatischen Anthropologie

Abstract

Kant benutzte für seine Lehrtätigkeit über Anthropologie die Metaphysica Baumgartens. In diesem Vortrag wird die These vertreten, dass die Bedeutung der Vorlesungsnachschriften über Anthropologie jedoch nicht ausschließlich in Ab- hängigkeit von diesem Handbuch zu verstehen ist. Kant selbst unterstrich bei- spielsweise, er habe seine Vorlesungen „immer mit Hinsicht auf ein dereinst mögliches System als ein für sich bestehendes Ganze“ dargestellt und durchge- führt. Bezüglich des Korpus über Anthropologie vertritt Kant gerade in Ausein- andersetzung mit Baumgarten und Platner zudem den Anspruch, eine neue akademische Disziplin als Teil der Weltkenntnis – die pragmatische Anthropo- logie – zu gründen. Die pragmatische Funktion sowie die wesentlich akademische Natur derselben sind der Grund dafür, weshalb wir diese Materialien als spezi- fisch anders und unabhängig – nicht nur von der Philosophie anderer Autoren, sondern auch von der spekulativen Philosophie Kants an sich – lesen können. ---- Kant used Baumgarten's Metaphysica for his teaching on anthropology. This lecture will argue that the significance of the lecture transcripts on anthropology should not, however, be understood as being exclusively dependent on this handbook. Kant himself emphasised, for example, that he presented and conducted his lectures "always with a view to a possible future system as a whole existing for itself". With regard to the corpus on anthropology, Kant also argued, particularly in disagreement with Baumgarten and Platner, that a new academic discipline should be founded as part of the knowledge of the world - pragmatic anthropology. The pragmatic function as well as the essentially academic nature of the same are the reason why we can read these materials as specifically different and independent - not only from the philosophy of other authors, but also from Kant's speculative philosophy per se.
