La salud y la mujer inmigrante

Abstract

Esta publicación enmarcada en el II Plan Integral para la Inmigración de Andalucía (2006-2009), tiene como objetivo servir de instrumento de apoyo a la labor que en este ámbito realizan los profesionales sanitarios. Al objetivo de la integración se suma la necesidad de potenciar la convivencia intercultural de las personas inmigrantes, lo que requiere la puesta en marcha de actuaciones desde una vertiente socio-sanitaria que posibiliten ofrecer una asistencia integral en distintos ámbitos: la familia, la salud reproductiva de la mujer, la salud de los niños, niñas, adolescentes y jóvenes, las situaciones especiales de la segunda generación, la atención a los problemas de salud mental derivados de la adaptación cultural, etc. El capítulo sobre Salud y la mujer inmigrante presenta el contexto español de las migraciones femeninas a España a comienzos de siglo, y puesto que la gran mayoría se encuentran en edad reproductiva, sus principales necesidades están enfocadas en la salud sexual y reproductiva, objeto del capítulo. Se muestran los aspectos culturales y estructurales de la salud reproductiva en esta población, así como cuestiones más clínicas que se observan en el contexto migratorio, como el uso de anticoncepción, interrupción voluntaria del embarazo, el control prenatal y morbilidad asociada al embarazo y parto. Finalmente se presentan propuestas de mejora en la atención sanitaria a mujeres inmigrantes.

This publication, framed in the II Comprehensive Plan for Immigration of Andalusia (2006-2009), aims to serve as a support instrument for the work carried out by health professionals in this area. Added to the objective of integration is the need to promote the intercultural coexistence of immigrants, which requires the implementation of actions from a socio-health perspective that make it possible to offer comprehensive assistance in different areas: family, reproductive health. of women, the health of children, adolescents and young people, the special situations of the second generation, attention to mental health problems derived from cultural adaptation, etc. The chapter on Health and immigrant women presents the Spanish context of female migrations to Spain at the beginning of the century, and since the vast majority are of reproductive age, their main needs are focused on sexual and reproductive health, the object of the chapter. . The cultural and structural aspects of reproductive health in this population are shown, as well as more clinical issues that are observed in the migratory context, such as the use of contraception, voluntary interruption of pregnancy, prenatal control and morbidity associated with pregnancy and childbirth. Finally, proposals for improvement in health care for immigrant women are presented.
