La libertad religiosa. Un bien amenazado

Abstract

The central importance of religion to human life makes it a natural and cultural phenomenon which takes many forms, all of them stemming from the perception of a supernatural environment which includes both objective and subjective, as well as material and immaterial expressions. The acknowledgment of this fact gives every individual both the right and the freedom to experience this dimension of his existence as one among many expressions of his life and dignity, as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognized in 1948. However, and in spite of the aforementioned recognition of the right to Religious Freedom, this liberty has often seen itself threatened by the actions of various agents. The expressions and causes of such agents will be analyzed in this work, which will cover the period from 2016 to 2018.

La importancia del hecho religioso en la vida humana le convierte en un fenómeno natural y cultural. Una realidad que adopta formas diversas nacidas de la percepción de un entorno sobrenatural que incluye expresiones subjetivas y objetivas, materiales e inmateriales. Su reconocimiento otorga a todo individuo el derecho y la libertad de vivir tal dimensión de su existencia como una expresión más de su vida y clave de su dignidad, tal como reconoció en 1948 la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos. Sin embargo, y a pesar de tal reconocimiento del derecho a la Libertad Religiosa, ésta se ve amenazada desde instancias diversas, cuyas principales expresiones y causas se valoran en este trabajo atendiendo al período comprendido entre 2016-2018.
