Hibridación y re‐apropiación en arquitecturas vernáculas del barrio del Sacromonte

Abstract

En búsqueda hacia lo cotidiano y espontáneo de la arquitectura, este trabajo incita a una reflexión sobre la concepción de ocupar, habitar o interpretar los lugares y sobre el modo de proyectar que hoy día mueve el mundo de la arquitectura. A partir de aquí, se plantea una manera de entender los espacios que piensa en el usuario, sus costumbres, necesidades y el contexto socio-cultural en el que habita (procesos de apropiación). Se expone un recorrido por distintas obras de arquitectura que se plantean desde el espacio libre de apropiaciones, como preámbulo y correlación con los planteamientos e ideales que sostienen la arquitectura vernácula. El barrio del Sacromonte como contexto es partícipe de una serie de interpretaciones que se plantean entre las múltiples que la condición del lugar le otorga. Se estudian las cuevas como espacios híbridos y transformables, mostrando diversidad de usos y actividades que estas acogen condicionadas a las pro pias características de las mismas y de los propios usuarios que las mantienen vivas, de lo general a lo particular, del espacio exterior al interior, de lo público a lo privado, resaltando la importancia del mobiliario como elementos que hacen propio el uso. En consecuencia, se ofrece al lector una colección de postales que incitan a pensar y meditar sobre la sociedad de consumo y obsolescencia mostrando diversidad de escenas en la que el reciclaje y la reapropiación de ciertos elementos son los protagonistas.

In search of the ordinary and spontaneous in architecture, this work encourages a reflection on the concept of inhabiting, living in or understanding places and the way of designing that currently moves the world of architecture. From here, it proposes a way of approaching spaces that thinks about the user, his or her habits, needs and the socio-cultural context in which they live in appropriation processes). A review of different works of architecture that are proposed from free space appropriation, as a preliminary and correlation with the approaches and premises that support vernacular architecture is presented. The Sacromonte neighborhood as a context is a part of a range of interpretations that are a series of understandings that arise from the multiple interpretations of the condition that the place has. The caves are studied as hybrid and transformable spaces, illustrating the diver- sity of uses and activities that are conditioned by the caves’ characteristics and those of the users who keep them alive, from the general to the particular, from the exterior space to the interior, from the public to the private, highlighting the importance of the furniture as elements that make the use of the caves unique. As a result, the reader is provided with a collection of postcards that incite thought and meditation on the obsolescent and consumer society, offering a diversity of scenes where recycling and eappropriation of certain elements are the central theme.
