El tránsito entre Alcázar y Mezquita en la ciudad de Madinat al-Zahra: el Sabbat

Abstract

El presente trabajo versará sobre el “Sabbat”: tránsito o pasaje de doble piso que conectaba a través de un puente exterior cerrado, dos edificaciones. La mayoría fueron destruidos, sobre todo al que denominamos Sabbat califal como espacio servidor de vinculación, entre el Alcázar Califal y la Mezquita. Considerando que es una de las figuras arquitectónicas menos estudiadas y más significativas e integradoras del paisaje urbano, que sirve de puente entre la arquitectura califal y religiosa de la ciudad palatina, nuestro objetivo tratará de su estudio como bisagra funcional, centrando nuestra actuación en el despliegue de su forma dinámica del tránsito o paso, entre los espacios urbanos y los espacios arquitectónicos implicados en Madinat al- Zahra. Ante este panorama, proponemos plantear las hipótesis posibles, en la implantación del Sabbat califal, cuyos análisis conllevarán distintas soluciones que repercutirán

The present work will deal with the “Sabbat”: transit or double-story passage that connected two buildings through a closed exterior bridge. Most of them were destroyed, especially what we call the Caliphal Sabbat, as a connecting space between the Caliphal Alcazar and the Mosque. Considering that it is one of the least studied and most significant and integrating architectural figures of the urban landscape, which serves as a bridge between the Caliphate and religious architecture of the Palatine city, our objective will be to study it as a functional hinge, focusing our action on the deployment of its dynamic form in the transit between the urban spaces and the architectural spaces involved in Madinat Al-Zahra. From the analysis of the different solutions, we will consider possible hypotheses of their implantation and we will obtain a new vision of the landscape and image that we have of this city, until now.
