Within the social uses of heritage the most famous may be the tourist, but it is not the only one. This paper explores the university heritage as a frame to observe other possible ways of integrating heritage assets into the daily life of local population. For this, an ethnographic approach is made with a view to studying the use of spaces made by students of the Campus of Cartuja, belonging to the University of Granada. Its objective is to identify the role of heritage in university life and then to develop three proposals on how the heritage of this campus can function as a catalyst for democratic values and interdisciplinarity. Contextualizing it in the city, this approach aims to shed light on new avenues for future studies in the patrimonial sphere, focusing on the contributions that Social and Cultural Anthropology can make to the material sphere and the study of places of memory.es_ES
