La carta del debate de Sĕm Toḇ Ibn Falaqera

Abstract

After a short presentation of Ibn Falaqera's person and work, considered from the point of view of the intellectual atmosphere of his time, the main themes of this work, written in his youth, are discussed. A Spanish translation of the 'Iggeret ha-wikuuah is offered, commenting the problem of the relation and harmony between Torah and Science, in the same positive attitude shown by Maimonides.

Tras una breve presentación de la persona y obra de Ibn Falaqera, situandolo en el clima intelectual de la época, se enuncian los temas fundamentales tratados en esta obra de juventud y se ofrece una traducción castellana de la «Carta del debate», consagrada al problema de la redacción y armonía entre la Torah y la ciencia, vistas con la misma actitud positiva defendida por Maimónides.
