This paper exposes the attempt to reunite the Valencian Cortes between 1677 and 1679. This
episode, must be placed in the context of the government of don Juan José de Austria. Aragonese,
Catalans and Valencians ask to the monarch to gather their assemblies, but finally only the Aragonese
have their ones. The Estamentos ordered his ambassador, don Gaspar Grau, to apply for the royal travel
to Valencia. The monarch's response was that he would go. However, the delicate health of the King
and the plague in Valencian lands delayed the celebration and finally the Cortes did not celebrate.
