Piornal is a small village in the province of Cáceres (Spain), where every 19th and 20th of January, people celebrate Jarramplas day. This is a festive celebration closely related to Saint Sebastian’s worship. This paper describes this particular fiesta and outlines an analytical study on the relationship between Jarramplas and the establishment of group identities depending on this rite.
