dc.description.abstractThe paper explores the phenomenon of cultural hermaphroditism among Aymaraes of Bolivia, through the figure of Sereno, an inhabitant of underworld, according to the tripartite division of this indigenous people. It describes and analyses his function as mediator between man and the world of those benevolent deities, typical of the Aymara pantheon.en
