Abstract

En este artículo se aborda el debate vinculado al uso de nuevos métodos de investigación en antropología. Se parte del documental Coming to light: Edward S. Curtis and the North American Indian, proyectado en el XII Congreso Internacional de Estudiantes de Antropología, celebrado en Elche, en noviembre de 2004. En él se analiza la vida y obra de éste fotógrafo y su relación con la antropología. Ello sirve como referencia para analizar seguidamente temas relacionados con la consideración ética dentro del estudio antropológico, la importancia de la apertura a nuevos modos de estudio y la relación de todo ello con el actual proceso de Bolonia.

This article looks at the debate about the use of new investigation methods in Anthropology. It is based on the documentary Coming to light: Edward S. Curtis and the North American Indian, shown at the XII International Congress of Anthropology Students that took place in Elche (Alicante, Spain), last November 2004. This documentary analyses the life and work of this photographer and his relationship with Anthropology. This is used as a reference to analyse issues related to the ethical considerations of anthropological studies, the importance of new research methods and the overall relationship to the current Bologna process (the new educational model for university degrees).
