Inseguridad, poder y biografía en un contexto barrial. El caso de Carabanchel

Abstract

En el presente artículo voy a abordar la relación existente entre las posiciones discursivas en relación a la (in)seguridad de ciertos agentes pertenecientes a un entorno urbano (el distrito de Carabanchel, en Madrid) y las negociaciones de poder establecidas en su contexto local. A partir de la información etnográfica producida, planteo el vínculo existente entre las representaciones negativas del lugar y la aparición de los discursos sobre la inseguridad. En el texto destaco el papel activo de las distintas personas que vivencian Carabanchel en la resignificación y actualización de dicha temática en función de los propios cambios biográficos y sociales.

In the present article I examine the relationship among the discourses about the (in)security of some agents living in a specific urban setting (the district of Carabanchel, in Madrid) and the negotiations of power established in their local context. By analysing ethnographic information produced, I raise the existing link between the negative representations of the place and the emergence discourses on insecurity. In the text I emphasize the active role of different people who experience Carabanchel in the re-signification and the updating of this subject in biographical and social changes.
