What's in a press release?

Abstract

This presentation is a set of basic guidelines to help learners work on a new text type that they will be using when dealing with science texts as a part of their Introduction to Specialized Translation course. The contents of these guidelines come from training documents used by English-language journalists when they’re learning about press releases. The source materials come from people who are writing authentic English-language press releases.
