In Spain there are a large number of palaces built during the 16th and 18th centuries. There are numerous examples of crumbling and forgotten palaces. Then the re-use of ancient buildings becomes a key issue concerning architectural rehabilitation, as well as sustainable management and socioeconomic benefits for the environment. To this end, a case study is made focusing on Spanish palaces that are being re-used. In such manner the main dangers and advantages caused by each use can be identified as well as the primary historic and artistic characteristics. Finally, such uses can be hypothetically applied on the case of the palace located in Corpa. The palace’s history and architecture are also studied establishing the need of collecting historic data before the architectural interventions and re-uses of heritage palaces.es_ES
