Abstract

En la actualidad existen una serie de tendencias en relación al patrimonio cultural que, si bien, de forma mayoritaria están siendo observadas como positivos y necesarios avances en la caracterización o actuación sobre el mismo, para nosotros encierran verdaderos peligros, que pueden acabar afectando muy seriamente a los fundamentos de la tutela del patrimonio cultural si su reconocimiento, tal y como parece se está desarrollando en la actualidad, no se hace acorde con dichos fundamentos. Aunque son muchas esas tendencias, y muy fragmentadas, nosotros nos vamos a centrar en las que han conseguido un mayor grado de asimilación y aceptación como son las del paisaje cultural, la salvaguardia del patrimonio cultural inmaterial, el concepto de comunidad o la memoria, sobre las que ofrecemos una mirada bastante diferente, quizás a contracorriente, de la ofrecida de forma general por la historiografía patrimonialista. Con ello pretendemos llamar la atención sobre lo que realmente es el objetivo final de este artículo: manifestar nuestra absoluta preocupación por el progresivo desmantelamiento que está experimentando nuestro sistema de tutela, para lo cual estas tendencias están ejerciendo el triste (aunque en la mayoría de los casos no sea intencionadamente) papel decoartadas para deslegitimar e invalidar dicho sistema.

There are a series of tendencies nowadays regarding cultural heritage that, even though they are being regarded as positive and needed advances when it comes to its characterization and the actions on cultural heritage, are fraught with dangers for us. This could ultimately affect the cultural heritage protection foundations if its recognition is not made in line with those foundations, which appears to be the case nowadays. Although there are many, highly fragmented tendencies, this article will focus on those that have been assimilated and accepted to a higher extend, such as cultural landscapes, the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage, the concept of community, and memory. The approach that we offer on these trends differs from the usual approach taken by the patrimonialism historiography. Our aim is to shed light on the ultimate objective of this article, which is to express our absolute concern at the progressive dismantling that our protection system is undergoing, since these trends are playing the sad (and in most cases unintentional) role of alibis to delegitimize and invalidate the system.
