creativo. Through an analysis of Jorge Luis Borges’ critical essay devoted to
Jorge Manrique’s Coplas a la muerte de su padre, together with the
various rewritings of them along the poetical works of the Argentinian writer, we aim to demonstrate that Borges does not interpret his
readings by arguing or analyzing them logically but rewriting them
mythically and poetically. Borges, unparalleled poet and storyteller
but high-handed and refutable critic, reads well just by repoetizing,
and poeticizes well just by rereading, because he understands reading and poetizing as an only creative act.
