El patrimonio Industrial Hidráulico en Sierra Nevada

Abstract

Del diverso patrimonio industrial minero de la comarca granadina del Marquesado del Zenete, la historia de las centrales hidráulicas y sus maquinistas, contienen el conocimiento y la sabiduría tecnológica que se produjeron en los inicios de la industrialización, con la generación de la energía eléctrica y neumática a finales del siglo XIX. Este patrimonio, no tiene un valor histórico-artístico, no goza de un valor estético ni tampoco funcional en la actualidad, pero representa una parte de la cultura popular de la clase trabajadora, encierra la vida de los hombres y mujeres, campesinos explotados por la industria colonial minera, descubridores de una nueva economía moderna de asalariados que supone la transformación de su estructura social. Actualmente conforma un conjunto patrimonial histórico sin protección en riesgo de desaparecer.

Considering the diverse mining industrial heritage of the Granada region of Marquesado del Zenete, the history of hydraulic power plants and their machines contain the knowledge and technological wisdom that occurred at the beginning of the industrialization, with the introduction of electrical and pneumatic energy at the end of the XIXth century. This industrial heritage does not have artistic or historical value, nor an aesthetic or functional one at present, but it represents a part of the popular culture of the working class: it represents men and women’s lives, peasants exploited by the colonial mining industry, who were discoverers of a new modern wage-earning economy and which involves the transformation of their social status. At present, it forms a historical patrimonial set without protection in risk of disappearing.
