Una casa es una machine de l'émotion

Abstract

Hubo un tiempo en que la imperiosa necesidad marcó el camino de la arquitectura. Tras un periodo de crisis y grandes guerras nació un nuevo orden, las maquinas lideraban el nuevo espíritu, era el momento de la construcción, de las «ideas definidas y lúcidas y voluntades claras». La casa se convirtió así en una máquina más, una «máquina de habitar». Cuánto bien hizo por la arquitectura y el ser humano aquel mínimo de confort alcanzado y, sin embargo, hoy nos resistimos a parar aquí. Volvemos a encontrarnos frente a un momento de crisis que provoca la llegada de un nuevo sistema de ideas donde, sin olvidar la racionalidad de la máquina, anhelamos algo más. Un nuevo espíritu para la arquitectura proclama: «Una casa es una máquina de emocionar». La pregunta es: ¿cuáles son los atributos para vivir apasionadamente, para vivir de forma emocional?

There was a time when the dominating necessity marked the path of architecture. After a period of crisis and great wars a new order was born, the machines led the new spirit, it was the moment of construction, of the "ideas set in order, clear and lucid, and with definite desires". The house thus became a machine, a "machine for living". Never had the declared "minimum comfort" been such a good for architecture and human being. However, today we resist stopping here. We are again facing a moment of crisis that provokes the arrival of a new system of ideas beyond the rationality of the machine which yearns for something more. A new spirit for architecture proclaims: «A house is a machine of emotion». The question is: which are the attributes to live passionately, to live emotionally?
