La forma tectónica de la casa: lo ontológico frente a lo representacional

Abstract

En la cabaña primitiva la cuestión principal en relación a la forma tectónica está en conocer la cantidad necesaria de grosor de la estructura de madera que es capaz de soportar y de hacer estable al edificio. Aquí el espesor de la sección mínima de madera es en sí mismo la esencia del ser del objeto, es decir, el aspecto ontológico de su forma tectónica. Para Semper, esta dualidad entre lo ontológico y lo representacional se identifica con aquello que pertenece a lo técnico y a lo simbólico respectivamente. El objeto de este texto es el análisis de la relación entre un interior como núcleo estructural y un exterior visible, el cual lo describó Karl Bötticher introduciendo las nociones de kernform, como la forma técnica, y kunstform, como la forma artística.

In the primitive hut the main question regarding the tectonic form is in knowing the necessary measure of thickness of the wood structure that is capable of supporting the building and making it stable. Here the minimum cross-section thickness of wood is in itself the essence of the object’s being –that is, the ontological aspect of its tectonic form. For Semper, this duality between the ontological and the representational is identified with what belongs to the technical and the symbolic, respectively. The aim of this text is the analysis of the relationshin between an interior as structural core and a visible exterior, that Karl Bötticher explained introducing the notions of kernform, as the technical form, and kunstform, as the art form.
