Relaciones interétnicas en el Chocó colombiano. Indígenas y afrocolombianos en el panorama de la investigación

Abstract

El Chocó colombiano es uno de los territorios más ricos en biodiversidad y a la vez menos documentados y trabajados por la etnografía americanista. En este entorno, comunidades negras e indígenas han creado un ambiente eficaz para garantizar la supervivencia y la propia afirmación étnica. Los objetivos de este artículo son primero, examinar cómo han sido analizadas las relaciones interétnicas en el Chocó colombiano y el sentido en el que esto ha sido recogido por la academia y, segundo, analizar el papel de región subsidiara del resto de la nación. La metodología se basa en el trabajo de campo y en uso de fuentes bibliográficas de referencia para el análisis de la información bajo la perspectiva de la antropología de lo interétnico. Los resultados muestras que ambas comunidades, reconocidas o no, parecen representar como ineludible la presencia del otro en la periferia de su espacio simbólico.

The Colombian Chocó is one of the richest territories in biodiversity and at the same time less documented and worked by Americanist ethnography. In this environment, black and indigenous communities have created an effective atmosphere to guarantee survival and their own ethnic affirmation. The aims of this article are: first, to examine how inter-ethnic relations have been analyzed in the Colombian Chocó and the sense in which this has been taken up by the academy and, second, to analyze the role of this subsidiary region of the rest of the nation. The methodology is based on field work and the use of bibliographic of reference for the analysis of information from the perspective of the inter-ethnic anthropology. The results show that both communities, recognized or not, seem to represent as unavoidable the presence of the other on the periphery of their symbolic space.
