El Eros amenazado: cuerpos y territorios ganados en Un mundo huérfano de Giuseppe Caputo

Abstract

Este artículo indaga el lugar que se le otorga a los cuerpos diversos y las luchas que estos enfrentan en Un mundo huérfano (2016) de Giuseppe Caputo. En la obra, se pone de manifiesto un tropo que ha atravesado la historia de la literatura: la relación entre Eros y Tánatos. Sin embargo, aquí la muerte no es producto del amor fatal entre los amantes, sino que esta es infligida por quienes consideran que ciertos cuerpos, el Eros que se produce entre estos, no son lícitos, por tanto, deben ser borrados del territorio. La novela enuncia la orfandad y precariedad en la que se encuentran los individuos que no solo están marginalizados por romper la matriz patriarcal y heteronormativa, sino que se encuentran en los márgenes de las ciudades. No obstante, el Eros, posibilita la creación de un territorio propio, en el que estos cuerpos se resisten al poder soberano.

This article investigates the place that is awarded to diverse bodies and the struggles that these face in Giuseppe Caputo’s Un mundo huérfano (2016). In this work, we see a trope that is present throughout the history of literature: the relationship between Eros and Thanatos. Here, however, death is not a product of fatal love between lovers, rather, it is inflicted by those who consider that certain bodies, the Eros that is produced between them, are illicit, and they must, therefore, be erased from the territory. The novel manifests the orphanhood and precariousness in which individuals are found and who are not only marginalized for violating patriarchal and heteronormative standards but are relegated to the city limits. Nevertheless, the Eros enables the creation of a personal territory in which these bodies resist sovereign rule.
