La tesis que presentamos es un aporte al campo de los estudios migratorios chilenos y de las migraciones sur-sur, ya que trabajamos con la migración haitiana que reside en el Área Metropolitana de Santiago de Chile. Los objetivos generales de esta tesis son identificar y describir las redes migratorias que construyen las personas haitianas en la conformación del proyecto migratorio en el país de origen y en la llegada, y las principales motivaciones para migrar al Área Metropolitana de Santiago de Chile. E identificar y analizar los espacios laborales, las experiencias de discriminación y las estrategias de sobrevivencia que ponen en práctica las personas haitianas en el Área Metropolitana de Santiago de Chile. Para alcanzar dichos objetivos, utilizamos la metodología de carácter cualitativa y, las técnicas de producción de información; la observación directa y la entrevistada en profundidad para realizar análisis de contenido de acuerdo a los resultados obtenidos.
