Jóvenes y ciencias sociales: rediscutir el papel de las universidades

Abstract

El artículo pone en cuestión el lugar que ocupan las universidades en la sociedad actual, cuyo orden se transforma a gran velocidad y está intrínsecamente ligado al desarrollo tecnológico. Sin ser el hogar exclusivo de la cultura, la universidad resulta, en medio del actual tsunami de privatizaciones, uno de los últimos hogares de lo público. No un simple refugio de la autonomía sino un lugar abierto a la reflexión y al conocimiento crítico de lo que significa vivir juntos.

This article questions the role played by universities in today's society, whose order is transformed at great speed and is intrinsically linked to technological development. Without being the exclusive home of culture, the university is, in the midst of the current tsunami of privatizations, one of the last homes of the public. Not a simple refuge of autonomy but a place open to reflection and critical knowledge of what it means to live together.
