De herencias y nuevos comienzos: repetición, reescritura y subjetividad en Mi antagonista

Abstract

El artículo tiene como objetivo examinar el modo en que el escritor cubano Antón Arrufat (1935) entiende la relación entre tiempo, revolución y subjetividad en su primera novela, Mi antagonista (1963). Proponemos que si desde el discurso estatal la revolución es concebida como página inaugural de una historia a ser escrita por un hombre nuevo, Arrufat, por el contrario, apuesta a la reescritura, entendida como una tarea de experimentación por parte del heredero con los materiales de la herencia recibida. La novela analizada sugiere que esa tarea transforma y renueva no sólo a la herencia sino también al heredero, en tanto él ya estaba inscripto en ese legado.

This article aims to examine how the cuban writer Antón Arrufat (1935) understands the relationship between time, revolution and subjectivity in his first novel, Mi antagonista (1963). We propose that if the State discourse imagines revolution as the inaugural page of a history to be written by a new man, Arrufat, on the contrary, conceives it as a work of rewriting, as an experimentation to be done by the heir with the materials of his inheritance. The novel studied here suggests that this rewriting work transforms and renew not only the inheritance but the heir himself, given that he was alredy inscribed in that legacy.
