La oficialidad del regimiento de infantería Soria: aproximación a su estudio social: aproximación a su estudio social (1712-1799)

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se realiza un estudio social de la oficialidad integrante de una unidad de combate del e jército Borbónico, el r egimiento de i nfantería s oria, considerado por la historio - grafía como la unidad militar más antigua de la m onarquía Hispánica. e l marco temporal de este estudio abarca desde 1712 hasta 1799, y en él se analizan diferentes aspectos relacionados con la oficialidad a través de sus hojas servicios conservadas en el archivo General de s imancas: proce - dencia geográfica, estado civil, edad en los empleos militares y la relación existente entre ésta y la actividad profesional, situación social de los oficiales en la unidad en función de la “sangre” y sus posibilidades de promoción en los empleos.

The present work consists on a social study about officers who are member of the combat unit of the Borbonic`s army, i nfantry r egiment “ soria”, which is considered by historiography the eldest military unit in s panish m onarchy. the temporal framework of this work covers from 1712 to 1799, and it analyses different aspects related to officers through the study of their record of services kept in s imanca ́s General archive. i n them, there are registered where the officers came from, their marital status, their ages in connection with their professional activity, officer ́s social status according to their “blood” compared to their possibilities in offices promotion
