Garitas, Bordos y océanos: Límites infranqueables en la literatura mexicana del noroeste

Abstract

En el presente trabajo nos proponemos analizar algunos de los problemas sociales que se han derivado de la política migratoria de Estados Unidos y los cuales afectan la lógica cotidiana de la ciudad fronteriza de Tijuana. En particular, es de nuestro interés subrayar que semejante situación no ha pasado desapercibida, y que, en mucho sentidos, los escritores nacidos en esta urbe, o afincados en ella, han sido los encargados de mostrar los influjos poderosos de tal relación, hasta el punto de ofrecer una nueva representación de lo tijuanense, en la que parecen haber quedado atrás las estampas festivas de la hibridación.

In this paper we analyze some of the social problems that have resulted from the immigration policy of the United States and which have affected to everyday logic of the border city of Tijuana. In particular, it is in our interest to underline the point that this situation has not gone unnoticed, and, in many ways, the writers born in this city, or settled in it, were in charge of showing the powerful influences of such relationship, until the point of offering a new representation of Tijuana, which seem to be behind the festive prints of hybridization.
