Abstract

Viajar por Foz-Coa é viajar por dois Patrimónios da Humanidade, é percorrer os trilhos da memória e contemplar as formas deslumbrantes da natureza, da história e da arte paleolítica. Mais que um lugar-comum, a luta e os confrontos épicos do passado com o presente fazem estas gentes resistentes, heróis e autênticos construtores de sonhos e de esperança. As oportunidades perdidas rapidamente se transformam em olhares cativos, e as paisagens das rudes encostas do Douro e do Coa, com os seus vinhedos, mais não foram, no passado, do que janelas abertas à imaginação e à criatividade. Se o Museu do Coa narra uma história com uma riqueza imaterial invulgar e os socalcos do Douro respiram uma civilização ancestral ímpar, então, podemos alavancar um caminho turístico sustentável idealizando a conjugação destes dois fatores.

Travelling through Foz-Coa is to travel through two World Heritage Sites, is to go through the tracks of memory and contemplate the beautiful forms of nature, history and Paleolithic art. More than a platitude or cliché, the fight and the epic clashes of the past with the present make these people resistant, genuine heroes and builders of dreams and hope. The missed opportunities quickly become captive eyes, and the landscapes of rugged slopes of the Douro and Coa, with its vineyards, were only, in the past, opened windows to imagination and creativity. If the Coa Museum tells a story with an unusual immaterial wealth and terraces of Douro breathe an ancient unique civilization, then we can leverage sustainable tourism idealizing a combination of these two factors.
