El presente trabajo fue impulsado en un primer momento por la necesidad de encajar piezas de un rompe cabezas identitario y de dar sentido a las discontinuidades de la historia y la memoria. Los años de autoritarismo y manipulación de las lealtades nacionales hacen mella en el propio conocimiento de nosotros mismos como nación, el cruel destino al que nos ha condenado la geoestrategia y la colonialidad no nos alcanza para sanar ordenadamente las heridas. Se trata de un primer paso para comprender, organizar el armario para luego seleccionar con mayor conciencia, buscar para encontrar respuestas a lo que somos y así poder conquistar la libertad de ser. De modo que esta tesis doctoral parte de esta inquietud personal motivada por el hecho de ser mujer e iraquí intentando entender desde la distancia que impone la diáspora las transformaciones recientes y las lagunas del pasado desde la rebeldía feminista y nacionalista rescatadas de todo aquello que niega y excluye.
