¿De dónde venimos y hacia dónde vamos?: el origen de la Educación Especial

Abstract

En este trabajo, se analiza la historia y evolución de la Educación Especial, partiendo de las prácticas antiguas y propias que en su tiempo tuvo la sociedad hacia las deficiencias, hasta llegar a la revisión de las leyes educativas más recientes. Aunque se ha intentado centrar esta historia primordialmente en España, es técnicamente imposible ver la evolución sólo a nivel nacional, sin tener en cuenta todos los avances que se han venido realizando en el resto de Europa y su influencia en nuestro contexto. Partiendo de prácticas violentas y extremas como fue infanticidio de deficientes, y la práctica posterior de encierro, pasamos al análisis de la educación segregada de población deficiente, hasta llegar al giro más reciente que han tomado los postulados y prácticas de la educación especial: la Educación Inclusiva.

In this work, the history and evolution of special education is discussed, starting from the old and own practices which once had the society towards deficiencies, reaching review of the most recent education legislation. Although this story has tried to focus primarily on Spain, it is technically impossible to see the evolution only nationally, regardless of all the advances that have been made in the rest of Europe and its influence in our context. Based on violent and extreme practices as was infanticide poor, and the subsequent practice of confinement, go on to analyze the segregated poor population education, up to the more recent turn taken by the tenets and practices of special education: Education inclusive.
