dc.description.abstractEste artículo tiene como doble objetivo: a) Destacar la importancia de la política religiosa de al-Mutawakkil (847-861) en su intento por restaurar el sunnismo ortodoxo en el Imperio y b) demostrar de qué manera la obra del célebre polígrafo iraquí, Ibn Qutayba (828-889), influyó en el triunfo de esa nueva política, especialmente con sus ʿUyūn al-Ajbār. Para ello hemos recurrido a las principales fuentes en árabe sobre el califato de al-Mutawakkil y sobre los sucesos más destacados acontecidos durante su mandato.es_ES
dc.description.abstractBased both on major Arabic sources about al-Mutawakkil’s caliphate as well as on the most important events of his reign, this article aims to: a) highlight the importance of the religious policy of al-Mutawakkil (822-861) in his attempt to restore the orthodox Sunnism in the Empire, and b) demonstrating how the famous Iraqi polygraph, Ibn Qutayba (828-889), influenced the new policy statement, specially through his ʿUyūn al-ajbār.es_ES
