El estudio tiene como objetivo esencial calcular el Factor de Impacto con una ventana de citación de 5 años (IF52011) de 335 congresos de informática de diferentes especialidades. El cálculo del Factor de Impacto corresponde al año 2011. Una vez computado dicho indicador se pone en relación con el IF5 de diferentes revistas científicas indexadas en las áreas de Computer Science del Journal Citation Reports de Thomson Reuters. De esta forma se podrá observar por un lado el impacto científico de los congresos y por otro si dicho impacto es equiparable al de las revistas científicas.
Este informe está formado por dos secciones principales, la Introducción, donde se describe la metodología que se ha seguido para seleccionar los congresos y calcular su IF52011, así como el método utilizado para seleccionar las revistas con las que se han comparado. A continuación se presentan los resultados mediante dos rankings a) uno de congresos ordenados según el IF52011 con una equivalencia decílica a las revistas del JCR y b) un ranking conjunto de congresos y revistas ordenada según el valor de IF52011. Anexo a este documento se adjuntan materiales complementarios que contienen todos los datos que han sido necesarios para calcular el IF52011.
