Abstract

Este artículo aborda la importancia del concepto de lugar en el proyecto contemporáneo de arquitectura. En arquitectura el lugar es siempre el punto de partida. El suelo, la tierra, el solar de que disponemos es el primer elemento, es incluso el primer material con el que contamos en el complejo desarrollo de un proyecto arquitectónico. Así, para construir un lugar, fundar un territorio, hemos de tomar posesión del lugar. Comenzar un proceso arquitectónico, ocupar un lugar, exige en primer término una apropiación. Con el levantamiento de una nueva arquitectura tomamos posesión del lugar donde nos establecemos. Este artículo es un manifiesto en defensa del valor que debe tener el lugar en el proceso arquitectónico.

This article discusses the importance of the concept of place in contemporary architecture project. The site is always the starting point. The soil, the land, the site we have is the first element, even the first material with which we in the complex development of an architectural project. So, to build a place, establish a territory, we take possession of the place. Starting an architectural process, occupy a place, requires firstly an appropriation.
