El medievalismo islámico en la arquitectura occidental

Abstract

Con la recuperación del medievalismo islámico se aportaban contenidos ideológicos de todo tipo, si bien predominaba el subjetivismo romántico en forma de evasión y evocación cuando se acometía el análisis empírico de estas construcciones. El modelo alhambrista se fue conformando a lo largo del primer tercio del siglo XIX a partir de la valoración del ornamento nazarí, cuyo repertorio suponía el más rico e interesante de todo el Islam occidental, dada su amplitud y variedad de diseño.
