La mezquita aljama de Granada

Abstract

Por las crónicas árabes, los textos cristianos desde el siglo XV al XVIII y las representaciones gráficas de la mezquita aljama de Granada desde el siglo XV hasta el plano de 1705, se ha podido restituir en planta y conocer el lugar que ocupaba desde el siglo XI esta mezquita, su patio, alminar, y aljibe. Este último es el único resto del conjunto arquitectónico que ha subsistido. Pinturas, grabados y dibujos, aunados con extensa y detallada información textual, han permitido una restitución bastante segura.

By means of the Arabic chronicles, the Christian texts between the 15th and 18th centuries and the graphic representations of the main mosque of Granada from the 15th century to the plan of 1705, it has been possible to locate and restore the ground plan of this mosque from the 11th century onwards, as well as its patio, minaret and cistern, which is the only surviving part of this architectural complex. Paintings, engravings and drawings, together with extensive detailed textual information, allow for a fairly autoritative restitution.
