Las regalías del Reino de Granada tras la Repoblación de Felipe II

Abstract

La repoblación de Felipe II es ante todo la definitiva reorganización del Reino de Granada. La conficación de los bienes de moriscos y su posterior distribución en distintas administraciones no es sino una nueva ordenación de los espacios y recursos según las nuevas concepciones regias. Las regalías granadinas se compondrían, pues, de aquellos bienes confiscados que quedaron a entera disposición del rey, sin menoscabo de los intereses particulares y comunitarios. No obstante, la nueva concepción defensiva, la precariedad de las haciendas concejiles y el más que necesario fomento del comunitarismo agrario modelaron de una forma especial las regalías granadinas.

The repopulation during the reign of Felipe II is mainly the long-lasting reorganization of the Kingdom of Granada. The confiscation of the moorish (Muslims converted to Christianity) belongings and its later distribution into different administrations, is anything but a new order of lands and resources according to the new royal conceptions. The royal prerrogatives of Granada would therefore, consist of those belongings which were confiscated and remained at the complete disposal of the king, without prejudice to the particular interests and those of the community. Nevertheless, the new defensive conception, the precariousness of the villages and the necessity of promotion of the agrarian communities shaped in an especial way the royal prerrogatives of Granada.
