El teatro egipcio de los sesenta: Yusuf Idris y Alfred Farag. Dos itinerarios convergentes en favor de la Libertad y la Justicia

Abstract

El teatro egipcio posterior a la Revolución de 1952 y, especialmente, el teatro de los años sesenta, vivió una etapa de florecimiento de la mano de una nueva generación de literatos a la que pertenecen Yusuf Idris y Alfred Farag. Ambos se preocuparon entonces por abordar en sus obras temas tan importantes como la libertad y la justicia, temas que inquietaban a su sociedad y que han sido tratados por grandes intelectuales de todos los tiempos. En este trabajo se analiza y ejemplifica la aportación que en este sentido hicieron ambos escritores.

Egyptian theatre after the Revolution in 1952 and especially in the 1960s, flourished in the hands of a new generation of writers which included Yusuf Idris and Alfred Farag. Both were concerned with important themes such as freedom and justice which preoccupied their society and which had been dealt with by great intellectuals of all ages. In this work we analyse and exemplify the contribution in this aspect of both these writers.
