Dos esquemas de tiempo realista en la obra de Nayib Mahfuz

Abstract

Este trabajo está centrado en el análisis temporal de dos obras de Nayib Mahfuz: la Trilogía y El ladrón y los perros. Ambas siguen un esquema realista, donde no se producen distorsiones ni rupturas graves, y donde el tiempo lineal, del pasado al presente, es característica esencial. Sin embargo, están concebidas desde ópticas muy diferentes, pues en la primera el ritmo de los acontecimientos es, en general, pausado, dado el amplio espacio textual, mientras que en la segunda es vertiginoso. En este trabajo se desglosan y analizan los elementos temporales, comunes o diferentes, que caracterizan a las obras mencionadas.

This paper is centered in the temporal analysis of two works of Nayib Mahfuz: the Trilogy and The thief and the dogs. Both are following a realistic structure without serious distortions or important ruptures, and the lineal time, from the past to the present, is an essential characteristic. However, the books are conceived from different viewpoints: in the first one, the happenings rhythm is in general slow or deliberate, in view of the extensive textual space, being it, in the second one of them, a very rapid and giddy rhythm. This article detaches and analyses the different or equal temporal elements that characterize the mentioned works.
