El Paseo de los Precursores y los Próceres – Monumento conmemorativo edificado a los Grandes Ilustres Venezolanos – Patrimonio Cultural de Venezuela

Abstract

Se aborda el estudio del reconocimiento y valoración patrimonial del Paseo Los Precursores y Los Próceres de Caracas, monumento conmemorativo edificado a los Grandes Ilustres Venezolanos, el cual forma parte de: “El Sistema de la Nacionalidad”, con el propósito de fomentar la preservación y difusión de este legado cultural. Esta obra urbana fue encargada oficialmente por el Ciudadano Presidente de la República, Marcos Pérez Jiménez, el proyecto y dirección fue conferido al arquitecto Luis Malaussena (1900-1962). La conceptualización del conjunto urbano establece una relación entre paisaje, arquitectura y obras de arte, donde se fundamenta el espíritu patriótico del pueblo venezolano, estableciendo un dialogo intelectual con destacados artistas como Hugo Daini, Ernesto Maragall, Attilio Selva y Arturo Dazzi que participan con sus propuestas artísticas para configurar y valorar la identidad nacional. Recibe la distinción de Declaratoria de Monumento Histórico Nacional, según Gaceta Oficial de La Republica de Venezuela. Año CXXI - Mes VII, Caracas, Viernes, 15 de Abril de 1994, Número 35.441. Junta Nacional Protectora y Conservadora del Patrimonio Histórico y Artístico de la Nación. In this article we propose an approach to the heritage recognition and enhancement of the Precursors and Próceres Caracas Memorial Tour, built in honour of the Great Venezuelans Illustrious, and which is part of "The System of Citizenship", with the main aim of encouraging the preservation and dissemination of this cultural legacy. This work was officially commissioned by the Citizen President Marcos Perez Jimenez and its design and direction were given to the architect Luis Malaussena (1900-1962). The conceptualization of the urban asset establishes a relationship between landscape, architecture and art that founded the patriotic spirit of the Venezuelan people, establishing an intellectual dialogue with leading artists such as Hugo Daini, Ernest Maragall, Attilio Selva and Arturo Dazzi, that contributed with their artistic works to the configuration and enhancement of national identity. The monument got the distinction of its Declaration as a National Historic Landmark, according to Official Gazette of the Republic of Venezuela.
